EVERY BIG BLUE POOL FEATURES THE FOLLOWING:Our water is always 90-degrees and shallow throughout the pool, making lesson transitions safe and comfortable. Our pools have an open design, allowing swimmers to get in and out with ease. This also allows the teachers to handle several different skill levels at the same time. Schedule all your kids' lessons simultaneously, no matter what age or level. Our pool decks have hand-held showers and each facility has individual changing rooms. Our parent viewing area is comfortable and functional including free WIFI. Our facility floors are covered in fall-proof, anti-microbial carpet. Each location has ample parking available. How many Big Blue Swim School locations are there?Big Blue Swim School was founded in 2009 by national champion swimmer Chris DeJong and currently has 17 locations across the country.
What is the best age to start swimming lessons?By their 4th birthday, most children are ready for swim lessons. At this age, they usually can learn basic water survival skills such as floating, treading water and getting to an exit point. By age 5 or 6, most children in swim lessons can master the front crawl.
How well can 5 year olds swim?5 years: Child is capable of swimming freestyle with side breathing and backstroke for 30 feet. 6 years: Child is capable of swimming a 100-yard individual medley (25 yards of each stroke: butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle) competently.
