Destiny 2 fireteam voice chat not working

Destiny 2 fireteam voice chat not working

For sound settings I got Voice Output Settings on Headset only and Team Voice Channel on Manually Opt in.

I don't get what the problem is? I can't hear anybody but they hear me. Anybody got any advice? If it is of any help my headset is a wireless G933 Artemis Spectrum by Logitech.

Restarted the console?

Could be a PS problem, not a Destiny one

level 2

I did try that yeah but it didn't help.

level 1

Maybe try a wired headset? It could be a Bluetooth problem, idk

level 1

Don't want to be that guy.. but do you have the voice chat audio turned up?

level 2

There is no option to change voice chat audio as far as I can tell

level 1

Had the same issue on series x last night. Hard reset on console sorted it. checked chat with other games before reset and it worked fine. guessing a bungo issue?

level 1

Sounds like you are fine, they can hear you. So the issue is on there end.

You have a mic icon on the screen when u talk? Do u see mic icons for your team mates? If your team don't have mic icons they probably need to reset their sound settings.

Pc has a bunch of issues too. computers want to use default mics that aren't turned on.

Yes the mic icons are fine, the only problem is I cant hear them. But at this point I think it is a bug because I got a friend who had no issue with voice chat but all of a sudden out of the blue he got the same issue as I do.

Quick press ps4 button brings up settings> ps audio options, long press ps button in game audio options. Might tinker with those. But more likely it's something as simple as who invites who to the fireteam for some reason. It's a weird quirk this season.

level 1

If all else fails you can join the party chat from your phone... you can even plug your mic into it.

One of my buds like to play on his PC while the rest of us are on PS5 and PS4. Thats what he does.

Bungie's Destiny 2  is a free-to-play multiplayer online first-person shooter video game. It was first launched in 2017 as a pay-to-play title for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows platforms. On October 1, 2019, it became free-to-play under the New Light label, employing the games as a service model, followed by the game's release on Stadia the following month, and then the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms in November 2020. Activision published the game until December 31, 2018, when Bungie purchased the franchise's publishing rights. Destiny 2 garnered mostly positive reviews when it was released. Its advancements over its predecessor were lauded, notably in terms of its initial plot, gameplay, aesthetics, exploration focus, multiplayer, and public events.

It was then re-released in 2019 as a Free-to-Play PC game with downloadable features. It was released in November 2019 for the following platforms. Bungie just published a new update for Destiny 2 that included the addition of cross-play voice chat. However, some players have claimed that when they join a fireteam, the in-game audio chat does not work. Don't be concerned if you're one of them. We've compiled some useful solutions for you in this post.

How To Fix Destiny 2 Crossplay Voice Chat Not Working?

1. Perform Basic Troubleshooting

If you're experiencing problems hearing your pals in Destiny 2's in-game voice chat, you should first check the following are,

  • Check for any loose wires or cables in your speaker and headphone connectors. Ensure that all wires and connections are properly connected.

  • Unplug and re-plug your headphones or speakers to see if it helps.

  • Make sure the microphone switch on your device is switched on.

  • In order to connect and participate in voice chat, Xbox users will need to have an Xbox Certified headset.

After you've confirmed that your audio equipment isn't the issue, try the remedies listed below.

2. Check The Voice Chat settings

The voice chat setting appears to cross over from Steam to console clients, according to several gamers. This implies that if you've ever entered into the game through Steam and turned off voice chat, you could have trouble using in-game voice chat on your console. You may need to enter into the game through Steam and re-enable voice chat in the settings to remedy this issue. Here's how to do it.

  • Use Steam to access Destiny 2.

  • Select SOUND from the Settings menu, then switch on Voice Chat.

  • Close the game on your PC before reinstalling it on your console.

Now check to see whether voice chat is working properly. If this technique does not resolve your issue, move on to the next steps.

3. Check your Stadia or Windows 10 Privacy Settings

If you're playing Destiny 2 on Stadia or Windows 10, double-check that your privacy settings enable the game to use your microphone. Here's how to do it.

Stadia

  • Select Stadia Settings from the drop-down menu.

  • Select the option for Privacy.

  • Check to see whether "Who may send you voice chat and party invites" is set to Private.

Windows 10

  • Close Destiny 2 completely if it's open.

  • To launch Windows Settings hit the Windows logo key and I at the same time on your keyboard. After that, select Privacy.

  • Select Microphone from the left side.

  • Make sure the toggle for Allow applications to access your microphone is set to ON. If not, you may activate it by clicking the Change button above.

  • To discover Destiny 2, scroll down the list of applications below that toggle. Make sure it's turned on as well.

  • Check if the in-game voice chat is working after relaunching the game.

If this solution doesn't work, move on to the next.

4. Update your audio driver

If your voice chat isn't working, it's possible that you're running an out-of-date or damaged audio driver. If you can't recall the last time you updated your drivers, you should do it right now since it may cure your problem immediately.

You may upgrade your audio driver in one of two ways: manually or automatically.

1. Update your audio driver manually

If you're knowledgeable with computer hardware, you may go directly to the headset manufacturer's website and look for the most recent proper driver. Double-click the downloaded file and follow the on-screen directions to install the driver once you've found the proper driver for your system.

2. Update your audio driver automatically (Recommended)

If you don't have the time, patience, or computer skills to manually upgrade your audio driver, you may use Driver Easy to do it for you. Driver Easy will detect your system and locate the appropriate drivers for your specific device and Windows version, which it will then download and install correctly.

  • Driver Easy may be downloaded and installed.

  • Run Driver Easy and select Scan Now from the menu. After that, Driver Easy will check your computer for any problematic drivers.

  • To automatically download and install the proper version of any missing or out-of-date drivers on your system, click Update All. You'll be offered to upgrade to the Pro version when you click Update All. If you don't want to pay for the Pro edition, you can still download and install all of the drivers you need with the free version; you'll simply have to download them one at a time and manually install them like you normally would on Windows.

After you've updated your audio driver, restart your computer and see whether you can communicate with your Destiny 2 pals. Check out the following repair if this one doesn't work for you.

5. Reset your audio settings (Console)

Some players said that restarting their audio settings addressed the issue with cross-play voice chat not working. You are welcome to give it a try. Here's how to do it.

PS4 or PS5

To restore the default sound settings, go to the in-game sound options and hold the square button.

Xbox

Select the "reset to default" button in the bottom right corner of the in-game sound options.

You may now test if Destiny 2's voice chat functionality works properly. If this approach still doesn't work, move on to the next one.

6. Check your sound settings (PC)

If your device is accidentally muted or silenced, you may have trouble using Destiny 2 voice chat. Check the sound settings on your computer to determine if this is the case. Also, double-check that your microphone is set as the default device. Here's how to do it.

  • Right-click the Speakers icon on your taskbar and select Open Volume Mixer.

  • For your devices, you'll see a set of volume controls. Make certain that none of them is muted.

  • Select Sounds by right-clicking the Speakers icon once again.

  • Select the headphones you wish to use from the Playback tab and click Set Default.

  • Select the microphone you wish to use and click Set Default on the Recording tab.

  • To save your changes, click OK.

Restart Destiny 2 when everything has been set up correctly to see whether your audio problem has been repaired. If not, move on to the next step.

7. Restart Windows Audio Service

The Windows Audio service is responsible for the management of audio devices used by Windows applications. Your audio devices will become unusable if this service is disabled. You can try restarting this service to address the voice chat not working problem. To do so, follow these steps.

  • To open the Run dialogue box, hit the Windows logo key and R at the same time on your keyboard. Then, in the Run box, type services.MSC and press Enter.

  • Scroll down the services list in the pop-up box until you find Windows Audio. Then right-click it and choose Restart from the menu.

  • Check to see whether your microphone is now operational.

  • Right-click Windows Audio and choose Properties if your microphone isn't working.

  • Check that the Startup type is set to Automatic in the Windows Audio settings panel. If not, adjust it to Automatic and save the changes by clicking OK.

After that, restart your computer and play Destiny 2 to see whether the problem has been resolved. If the problem persists, move on to the next step.
