I don't know why the reviews for this chat mic are so bad. Its light weight, breathable, glasses friendly and under $20. No it's not a stereo headset, it's for back & forth communicating only. When I first plugged directly into my xbox controller I noticed sound was muffled. Which did concern me because of alot of other reviews stating volume output is weak. This is true, but if you'd simply google this headset & volume problem. You would see you must adjust audio volume in your settings. I did this, night & day difference. Much better then the Microsoft chat mic they provided with my console. Give this mic a try if your looking for name brand, good bang for your buck cheap chat mic. I also have a stereo headset but like to wear this when I need to hear my actual surroundings haha. Hope this helped.

Nothing fancy. Works well. Doesn't fall apart. Ambidextrous. Can hear what is happening in the rest of the house with one ear free and the open ear cup design. The cord is tough and does not fail.

I watch lots of movies and YouTube at night this headset keeps the house quit and my viewing private. I use the same headset for VOIP calls on a daily basis.

My son had destroyed about a dozen head sets in four years. I gave him my old one of these and ordered a new one for myself last Fall. He has not destroyed it yet. At that time I bought a couple extra spares for me as I will use these for years.

I've always had a rocky relationship with Turtle Beach. The few pairs I've owned SOUNDED great but the build quality is severely lacking, usually breaking after a few months of daily use. These are no exception. When that one soul you meet on xbox who actually talks shows up you're going to be able to hear them just fine. But they won't hear you. Not unless you're accustomed to checking your gag reflex with a microphone when you need to communicate. I'm not quite sure what they mean when they say "high sensitivity microphone" because unless they are referring to it's emotions it's simply not true.

Design wise, while the glasses friendly earcup is exciting and a welcome decision to those of use who wear glasses the actual comfort of the headset is pretty bad. It's light weight for the most part, but you still have one large cup, the microphone, and the cord with it's controls on one side making for a very off balanced headset. You'll also feel the individual pads pressed around the side of your face, since the headset needs to be snug in order to not slide off.

Will this work better than the standard cheapo headsets? Absolutely it will. And if you don't mind the awkward feeling of having a few random places on your face feeling pressure this will do it for you.
Though I will say: once some one mentioned to me it feels like strapping a red solo cup to your ear I haven't been able to use them.

These headphones are really pretty cheap quality. I didn't have a lot of options to choose from with getting the one sided headset, but I will definitely buy any other one sided headset besides this one the next time I buy. The mic works great, but the volume in the headset is terrible. At max volume you can hear what people are saying as long as there isn't any other noise in the room.

I like to open-ear design. Being able to hear surrounding sounds makes long phone calls more bearable. The ear piece has cut-outs for glasses, so that the headset is not pressing the temple arms against your head. The assymetric design took me a little to get used to but is very comfortable now. I forget I have them on. My only complaint is that the mic arm does not hold any shape. It is limp and hangs straight down no matter how you bend it. There, it sometimes hits the cable, making annoying noises. I solved this by adding a piece of wire to hold a bend in it. That's the reason I took off one star. Otherwise, great headset for $16!

Very uncomfortable, spend more buy a better headset. Brand itself is great, just a weird hard foam design that isn't comfortable around the ear.

It's not the worst but it's not the best I don't like the fact that the the mic kept slipping and it was never in the right spot because it was just cheaply made I kind of fixed it by taking a McDonald's straw and cutting it down the middle and then taping it on and some kind of ghetto fashion to keep it from slipping I think next time I'm just going to buy a little bit more expensive one the sound qualities all right for what it is and it's kind of comfortable I don't like headphones as much I just wanted something on my one side of my head and this is what I was looking for

Hi Viewers,
Firstly I want yo address the con of this headset, notice I still have it a 5 starts,

CON: It does not work with themed x box one controllers, fortnite. Halo etc.... even after messing with setting and going through YouTube videos on how to fix, simply not comparable in my experience....

PROS: Works perfectly fine with black original x box one controller, This is the second one of these i have purchased and it's truly a great headset for the PRICE, Has Volume & Mute option on the wire for complete control, most other headsets do not have this for the price, I used it specifically for work on my laptop more than anything when working from my car and I'll tell you it works like magic, its comfortable, convenient to a single ear only so you can stay aware of surroundings, as mentioned earlier I've owned 2 of these so far and these guys are durable, my first one stopped working cause my son broke it, I don't know how this product has bad reviews? Aside from the mentioned themed control issue no other complaints, try it. I honestly believe you wont be disappointed, again price in mind, hope this helps:)

On the plus side, the audio is very clear through this headset and the mic seems to transmit very well with no static or echo. It would be great other than two fatal flaws. First, the fit on my head is insanely tight. Maybe it was designed for small children. I'm a normal sized adult, so my head isn't extremely large. It feels like a vice grip on the sides of my head the moment I put it on. Within 30 seconds I have a headache. I've tried leaving it stretched out over a pillow when not in use to flex the shape a bit, but it's not worked after several weeks. Second, the microphone is on a semi-flexible cord that needs to be much more firm. It flops around like a wet noodle, so people go from hearing me clearly to literally not hearing anything I am saying because the mic flopped down too far from my mouth. It needs more tension on the cord to keep it in place. If I could do it over, I'd just get the Microsoft Chat Headset that is much lighter weight, doesn't hurt to wear, and has a plastic boom for the mic that stays in place.

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful materials/design

I was pretty shocked when I took the headset out of the box this morning. I wasn't expecting amazing quality for this price, but even for an entry level headset I expected far more from an xbox endorsed product from a manufacturer like turtle beach. the head band is inflexible and doesn't fit at any size setting, and the plastics used are the worst. The pictures don't show the worst of it, so I've included a snap here to show the actual design. There's precious little padding, and what there is doesn't actually sit against your ear, so it's like wearing a headset made out of shoddy, hard, cheap plastic. Really uncomfortable and something I will never use. I doubt this will ever get plugged in to see what the sound quality is like and will shortly end up in a bin/drawer/charity shop.
Avoid this headset at all costs. It's not worth any amount of money. I wouldn't take it if it were free.

It's a great headset, I prefer it to the standard one that comes with the xbox. When I opened it, there was minor assembling needed (slot the loop into the headset, easy, too easy...) What's it like to use you ask? The headphone actually doesn't rest on your ear, the 'cup' rests above and below, suspending the speaker off your ear instead. t'is comfortable indeed, but a little more cushion on the non speaker end would be good. It doesn't dig in, it'd just be nice, don't be tight TB. Also it's lined with holes so you can hear what's going on around you better, which is great if you're like me and prefer your surround sound, or you need to hear something in one ear other than the mad gibber jabber of your party. On that note, the sound of the gibber jabber is of a good quality, nice and clear as you'd expect from TB. I was surprised at how light the headset is for its size (I guess from the holes) but it's nice and sturdy. Survived an 8ft drop onto tiles no problem, I'll tell you later. The mic seems bit short but it picks up my voice no problem and its bendy, so you can switch between left and right ears, heck, put it on your forehead. The speaker will go loud enough for you to hear it. So. All in all it's a good headset, lightweight, comfortable and definitely worth buying if you need to replace your xbox headset with something similar.

1.0 out of 5 stars Uncomfortable, poor quality sound

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 20, 2019

Firstly this thing is so uncomfortable. A harsh plastic belt that squeezes your skull, and doesn’t really feel comfortable or natural in any position. You have to attach the earpiece to this, the vertical position of which is adjustable - but the ear piece is also made of this horrible hard plastic with the most minimal padding. If feels like you’ve slotted your head into a vice. Then the sound itself - well
The speaker beside your ear is really poor quality. The sound is tinny and the volume isn’t suffiencently loud enough to work against the backdrop of your home cinema sound. The mic itself records too quietly, playback is like a whisper. And this is with the volume dial turned right up to max.

4.0 out of 5 stars I wish I'd known!

Bought these for my two grandsons for Christmas. There was nothing actually wrong with the head sets and they were what they wanted but I was just told 'Xbox One headsets' what I didn't know was that the fittings to connect to their Xbox one are completely different so they can't use them until I get an adapter so, for something that cost me £15, I now have to spend at least another £20 per item so they can actually use them. So for two of them they've worked out quite expensive presents. Why do they make them with different connections to the original? It's wrong and a con to make you spend more.

Product arrived promptly now before we go on this product attracted me as I have one deformed ear smaller than the other and I wear glasses, As soon as I unboxed the product I thought it looked great for the price, I have now used the item and can say finally I have found ahead set that doesn't slip off or knocks by glasses or makes that horrible squeak when the glasses run on the frame, Also I fine this very comfortable around the ear I also have scaring around the ear you see and this headset allows enough ventilation so it does not get hot sweaty and irritable. All in all a great product with good sound and clear speech when talking to a friend or group I have no negatives hope this helps, Remember if you've found love then your home 👍🏻
