Yup, the thought bubbles above your Sims thumbnail, also known as Whims, are not automatically disabled from the game. However, the feature wasnt fully removed from the game – it was just disabled along with the introduction of a new section in Game Options. To bring back Whims, go to Options > Gameplay > Show Whims.

I'm only posting here to find out if they were removed or if I have some sort of bug. My sims aren't getting whims anymore since GF when live.

If its a bug, I'll go post in the appropriate section, but I just wanted to know if its a thing first.

Oh joy, the inappropriate talk to -> flirt with everything chain from Sims 2 is back. I remember having to kill this shit in Sims 2, too. There, anytime a sim fulfilled a Talk To want on someone, they'd always, always, immediately want to flirt with that person, regardless of whether or not this was appropriate. No exceptions.

You’ve probably noticed something strange and missing in Live Mode after installing The Sims 4’s latest update. Yup, the thought bubbles above your Sim’s thumbnail, also known as Whims, are not automatically disabled from the game.

However, the feature wasn’t fully removed from the game – it was just disabled along with the introduction of a new section in Game Options. To bring back Whims, go to Options > Gameplay > Show Whims. Ticking the box will bring back the Whims feature in your game.

You’ll be able to play and earn Satisfaction Points once again after enabling this feature. It’s not known why the feature has been automatically disabled in the first place considering that Whims were one of the main ways to earn Satisfaction Points for the Satisfaction Rewards. However, it could be related to the fact that you get a lot more Satisfaction Points by completing Holidays with The Sims 4 Seasons or that the feature just isn’t that played enough to be considered as a mandatory feature that would hog up the User Interface.

What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them including High school
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I am not sure, it happens every time I play since High School came out.
What happens when the bug occurs? I am unable to cancel different whims for my sims. So if I want to cancel one (such as I am not building a dang swimming pool in the winter VLAD), there is no X option to cancel it out.
What do you expect to see? I expect to see the X button to cancel the whims.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. This started happening as soon as I installed the high school expansion. The latest patch/delivery did not fix it either.

I tried turning whims off saving settings, exiting the game, reloading, turning whims on, exiting the game, reloading, creating a new family, trying every single world, tried at least a couple lots in each world both commercial and residential, nothing seems to fix the issue. I had mod's originally (mainly just to add more icons for holidays) but I not only deleted them but I also restored my game files (aka uninstalled and reinstalled).

Sims always have two basic Whims, which are the little fluffy clouds above their Portraits. However, when Sims have any Emotion other than Fine (which is our neutral Emotion), they get what we call an Emotional Whim. This Whim is in the far left and is based on their current Emotion.
