Killing Slime for 300 Years season 2 confirmed…

It’s good news for fans of the I’ve Been Killing Slime for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level anime, the series has recently been renewed for a second season by Studio Revoroot.

The announcement was made on Tuesday, January 4th, 2022, through the ongoing light novel series and shared on the official Japanese website. However, not many fans will have been too surprised by the news.

Prior to the announcement, the future of I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years appeared as bright and positive as the series’ character. Anime renewals typically depend on two factors, popularity and source material – thankfully, this show has plenty of both.

The series is currently scoring a respectable 7/10 on MyAnimeList, with over 106,000 reviews from fans; arguably enough to merit a renewal.

There is also plenty of source material from the manga and light novel series that is available to adapt into more seasons of the anime.

According to Monsters and Critics, the first season will conclude around the fourth light novel volume and the seventh manga volume (with some notable chopping-and-changing from the original order).

The good news for fans is that a total of 19 light novel and ten manga volumes have been already been published in Japan.

Interestingly, there is also a possibility that a spin-off anime series can be produced, adapting the hit light novel spin-off ‘I Was a Bottom-Tier Bureaucrat for 1,500 Years, and the Demon King Made Me a Minister.’

What date could I’ve Been Killing Slime for 300 Years season 2 release?

Whilst news of the second season going into production is a welcomed one, the official announcement made no mention of a potential release date for Azusa’s return.

However, we can make a prediction on the potential premiere based on the production timeline from the first season. The anime was first announced in October 2019 and premiered in April 2021.

Assuming that season 2 experiences a similar production schedule now that it has been announced, fans can expect the anime to return in July 2022 on the Summer broadcasting slate.

After living an agonizing life as an office employee, Azusa Aizawa, who can no longer bear her workload, comes to the end of her short life by dying suddenly due to overwork. After she dies, she suddenly finds herself in the presence of a goddess. The goddess sends Azusa to a fantasy world where she reincarnates as an immortal witch. She vows to live her new life peacefully, so she seeks the easiest way she can find to make a living. Azusa, who does not want to attract attention in this world, begins to hunt slimes that give the least experience points for years. For 3 centuries, on the plateau, she hunts 25 slimes per day. Although the experience points from slimes are very low, she becomes extremely powerful from killing slimes for 300 years and finds herself reaching the maximum level, that is, level 99. She feels the need to hide her powers, thinking that being so strong will drag her back to her old life habits and fatigue. But efforts to hide it are to no avail. Despite her best efforts, stories of the ultimate “Witch of the Highlands” spread, and a proud dragon named Raika appears to test her powers against her. Although Azusa defeats Raika and becomes friends with it, problems begin to arise as friends and foes alike come in search of the mysterious witch. Azula realizes that it is righter and more enjoyable to live with friends, whom she sees as family, rather than alone.

Does Ive been killing slimes for 300 years and I maxed out my level have a season 2?

None of the anime’s main characters are male. Probably we will not see one of them in the next season as well. We can watch Azusa and her family visit Beelzebub’s home. Shalsha and Falfa will most likely start school, but it is still possible that they start running the cafe again in the future. We can watch Laika’s impressive martial arts skills in a tournament. Another big visit to Halkara’s house could happen as a family. Azusa was greatly disappointed that World Tree was not a real dungeon. In this season, we will have the chance to watch a real dungeon visit. Thanks to Azusa’s help to her friend, we will also witness an unexpected wedding. Also, we will be able to explore more of Azusa’s abilities next season. It will be interesting to watch how Azusa copes with everything in her new life.
