How to Open the Command Console

You’ll have to make some alterations to the game’s executable file before you can access the console in-game. The code you’ll need is found below, but how you use it changes depending on whether you’re playing the Steam version or some other version of the game. On Steam, right-click the game, select properties, then enter the code below into the Launch Options field. If you’re using EA Origin, you can right-click the game, select Game Properties, and enter the code into the Command Line Arguments field instead.

Much like the companion quest for Isabela, you’ll miss a bit of dialogue, but it’s worth it to carry on with the quest.

Merill’s Companion Quest – Act 3

Merill’s questline is slightly bugged, and sometimes when you visit her at her house a cutscene starts immediately, preventing you from getting her companion quest later on. If you use Merill’s debug menu from the list above, select Main Quest > Act 3 > 1 Start Merill Notify. This will make it possible to speak to Merill and complete her companion quest.

Isabela’s Companion Quest – Act 3

If you can’t activate Isabela’s companion quest in the Hawke mansion during act 3, you can use her debug menu to sort it out. In her menu, select Plot > No rest For the Wicked Act 3 > Jump to Plot Point > First Velasco Encounter. While you will miss out on a few dialogue options, you’ll at least be able to start the quest properly.
