G Pro vs G Pro X Reddit

I currently own both and eventually settled on the GPX as my daily driver purely because I mainly play esports.

My G Pro thoughts:

  • Quite a bit lighter than the G703 I rocked for a few years prior. You will notice the weight difference going from 106g to 80g.

  • The old Logitech Gaming Software does recognize the G Pro, so you can avoid the newer G Hub software.

  • Nice classy touch of RGB.

  • Slightly wider range of skate choices (i.e. Hyperglides exist, for example).

My G Pro X Superlight thoughts:

  • You can also feel the weight difference coming from the G Pro's 80 grams down to the GPX's 63 grams but it's not as drastic. Also FWIW and maybe my scale is whack, but my GPX weighs 63 grams without the bottom round cap on, with Tiger ICE skates on and with Hotline Games' grips taped on.

  • I'm not as bothered about the "lesser quality" side buttons. They work just fine for my needs.

  • Only works with the crappier G Hub software. Logitech Gaming Software doesn't recognize the GPX. :( That said, I haven't been as bothered with G Hub but I use the same 800 dpi "profile" across the desktop and all games.

  • No RGB.

Bottom line: both are fantastic mice, IMO. If you care about mouse weight at all and/or play esports, go with the GPX. If you don't care about mouse weight and/or don't play esports, go with the G Pro.

I'm trying to decide between these right now as well.

I think both have the same switches now, supposedly ones that hold up better to double clicking issues.

I'm not sure if shaving 20gs is really worth it. Will it be that big of a difference?

I also would like the two extra mouse buttons on the right hand side.

Idk, tough one for me.

What people fail to point out about the so called "better mic" is that it's only better if your using it for a pc as you get the pc Usb adapter for a customisable EQ setting.

If your using this on anything other then a computer you can't customise the EQ and in that case wouldn't waste the $20 as the mics will be exactly the same. I've used both and my mates can never tell the difference untill I'm on the pc and I use my custom setting that I made on the pro X.

Hope that helps your decision 🙂

Though the device looks exactly the same, I can guarantee that there is a big difference. What I suggest, once you purchase either, maximize its usage. If you feel like it won't suffice, just return it for a swap. Thanks and stay safe!

So I'm in the need of a new mouse. I'm currently using the G402 I got 3-5 years ago (I don't really like the shape and the sensor has been bugging out for a while now).

I've thought about the G Pro Wireless (currently on sale for 80€) and the G Pro Superlight (on sale for 120€).

So, which one should I buy or should I buy another mouse altogether? The longer battery life on the G Pro X is the biggest reason I've thought about it. I don't really care about the lesser weight. I don't really like mice with holes (the mouse should eat the cheese, not be the cheese) and I dislike the fact that neither of the G Pros are charged via USB-C. I'd also preferably have a mouse with a simpler design (I used a G502 Hero for a bit but the shape was so complex, it got my gamer gunk all over it and was a pain to clean).

Logitech updated the regular GPW’s switches to the same ones used in the Superlight so double clicking shouldn’t be an issue on either mouse.

The difference between the two is the weight, the right side buttons on the GPW, RGB on the GPW, larger front skate on the Superlight, white being available on the SL, and the GPW being able to use either Logitech Gaming Software (a lighter weight program that only updates like once per year) or G-Hub. The SL is stuck with G-Hub which is Logitech’s newest software that’s a little more resource heavy and updates more frequently since it’s used with way more products from all the companies that Logitech has acquired in the past few years.

Otherwise, they’re the same shape, same wireless, same sensor, same switches, and same battery.

Really it comes down to the weight and if it’s worth the extra money to you personally for a lighter mouse. If I had to choose between the two I’d save the money. I’ve used the GPW for 3 years/thousands of hours with no issues. It still looks and performs like new. It feels lightweight and the battery still lasts 60+ hours.

My memory express down the road has both of these in stock but they sell out insanely fast and I'm buying one as soon as it opens. I don't know which is really better besides these two, all I know is:

The G pro wireless has more buttons and can change them out, weighs 80g, and rbg lighting.

And the superlight is 58-61g, less buttons, and $40 more.

If this is the only real difference then HOW big of a feeling difference when playing FPS for snapping and precision (csgo) is 80g compared to 60g since I use a 85g mouse already? If it's literally non noticable I'm saving my $40 and getting g pro wireless.
