Pixel 6 Pro vs iPhone 13 Pro Reddit

Looking for a new phone, currently on a Huawei Mate 20 pro which has been great but is showing signs of age (poor battery, some lagging and cracked screen).

Torn between a Pixel 6 Pro or iPhone 13 Pro, here's how I see it:

  • Pixel 6 Pro looks amazing for features and camera

  • iPhone 13 Pro seems less buggy but costs more and less fun. I like FaceID but hoping this will come to P6P soon.

  • Size of the P6P is a slight concern to me, anyone help me out with if they've had problems with it being too bulky?

So can anyone help me decide, or reassure me that it's only a minority that see these issues?

Pixel 6 Pro vs iPhone 13 Pro Reddit

So my wife and I bought two new phones 1 month ago. I got P6P, she got Iphone 13 pro. I owned a couple of google phones before (all the Nexuses and pixel 5) so i am more Android type of guy. It was the first Iphone for her too. This month, at least for me, it has become obvious that Iphone is a far more advanced phone. I mean in everyway possible. While I am grinding with a tons of bugs in my Pixel (December update didnt fix my overheat issue and battery drain), I cant hear a single complaint from my wife regarding to her phone. I tend to compare these 2 premium devices and basically the only area that Pixel wins sometimes, just sometimes, is in still photo taking. Screen gets noticably brighter in iPhone 13. Form factor is optimal for the normal hand. Haptics are way better. Video recording, well its globaly accepted that iphones are far more superior here. The ultrawide camera is wider and has a better quality overall in video recording too. Yesterday she had 5hours of screen on time with 40% battery left, mine 5 and half hours dead. IDK boys. I wish I made a clever choice and getting an iPhone too. It is just a better phone, now I dont have a question about it.

So I need honest opinions and advice I’ve had a pixel 6 since day one. I have enjoyed it but lately I’ve been having a ton of stutter, bugs, etc. I have recently got an iPhone 13 pro and not sure which phone I want to return.

Only real downside for my pixel 6 is the stutters and bugs.

But one of the most annoying things on the iPhone is that I can’t use google photos as a default photos app in the sense of my iPhone seeing it which I have realized I’ve taken for granted with my pixel.

Anyone try out both and have opinions?

Thank you all

I returned my iPhone 13 pro. I used 11 and 12 pro max before that and although I enjoyed the apple experience I just didn't feel like I got a new phone, if felt exactly the same as the last. So I decided to get the P6P for a new experience and I don't regret it at all. Camera - I'm not really into editing, so just taking every day pics are very simililar in my experience.

Battery - IPhone has been better but the P6P has got better and better in the 3 weeks I've been using it. On a work day I probably use 4-5 hours of screen time and I'm on about 50% left and charge once a day before bed. Fingerprint - I wear a mask for the most of my working day so the fingerprint has been really handy and I've had none of the issues people mention. Face ID as well would have been useful.

Apps - I just feels that IOS apps are better, they seem to work much smoother but so many of them cost money and I ended up with about £25 of app subscriptions a month not including my video/music streaming apps.

I'm loving the screen, it's been a very smooth experience, the speaker sound is good and I forgot how much I enjoy customising my phone.

The only issues I've had is Twitter freezing on occasion, (that was the same on IOS). I find I easily mute calls in pretty much every conversation I have, so I lock my phone when I take a call and that's solved the issue.

Im sure at some point in the future, I'll go back to iOS as I am heavily in their eco system but for the next 12 months I'm giving the pixel a go and so far, I have zero regrets.

I’ve been using an iPhone 11 since January 2020, but I used an S8 for around 2 and a half years before that.

I’m looking to upgrade now, and the phones that caught my attention were the Z Flip 3 and the Pixel 6 Pro, but the weak battery life on the Z Flip 3 is a bit of a deal breaker for me

I’m quite into tech, so I like messing around with new features.

The reasons I’d consider an iPhone:

  • After using the iPhone 11 for almost 2 years, it’s been extremely reliable. I barely experienced any crashes or slowdowns.

  • I have 150GB of stuff on iCloud Drive, but I might consider switching to Google One

  • I use an iPad Pro, and transferring photos from an iPhone to an iPad is easier

  • really good battery life

  • I still have an Apple Watch (Ill most likely give it to my sister, so it’s not too big of an issue)

  • iMessages is convenient (I’ve tried using BlueBubbles, and it should be fine for me, just slightly less polished that actually using an iPhone)

  • I like the design more than the P6

  • I’d rather have very good video over very good photos

  • I play a decent amount of mobile games, and my iPhone 11 runs them flawlessly

The reasons I’d consider a Pixel 6:

  • Android just has so many more fun features to use and play around with. I really like customising my phone layout. Android is just more fun to use, and looks nicer IMO

  • I still use my old S8 to read webtoons a ton on Tachiyomi

  • I’m bored of iOS after using it daily for 2 years

  • all my other devices are USB C, so I’ll only need one cable when I’m going out

Honestly, the biggest thing I’m worried about is reliability. I’ll probably end up upgrading in 2-3 years, so I’d like it to remain smooth for at least that long. My S8 got really laggy after a year. It doesn’t help that I rooted the S8 like a week after I got it and installed some random stuff which likely caused it to slow down, but it kinda ruined my perception of android. I won’t be rooting my P6 if I get one

Android is just so fun to use compared to iOS, so I’d really like to get the P6 if it’s reliable

My main laptop is windows, but I have an old MacBook Pro I can leave on 24/7 for BlueBubbles so that I can use iMessages on Android

I’m equally proficient in both operating systems, so that’s not an issue.

Also, I can only get a 128GB P6 Pro on my country. My iPhone 11 is currently at 110GB, but I had to delete some apps
