When it comes to what best hair color for dark skin males… the answer is basically what feels best TO YOU! What color do you like? What color makes you feel best? As well as what skin tones flatter you best?

Generally speaking, people with light skin tones should avoid colors that are too dark because it makes them look washed out. However, people with darker complexions can pull off any color, which means you have the freedom to rock whatever you want.

Should you dye your hair or go to a salon?

There are many reasons why people decide to dye their hair. But what’s the best option, going to a salon or dyeing your hair at home?

Going to a salon is a great idea if you want a professional job done. You can also get advice from professionals and they will help you choose the right color for you. The downside is that it can be expensive and take time that you might not have. Home-dying is cheaper and much quicker, but the quality of the end product could be questionable.

If you don’t mind spending time and money then we recommend going to a salon; but if you don’t mind spending some extra money and waiting, then we would go with home-dyeing instead!

How to dye your hair at home?

Dying your hair at home can be tedious and time-consuming. So, I’ve compiled a list of my favorite tips to make the whole experience go as smoothly as possible.

1. Find a Style That Works For You:

What style is going to work best for you? There are so many options when it comes to hair dye, and it can be overwhelming. Do some research and find a color and style that will flatter your features.

2. Prep Your Hair

The better prepared your hair is, the less likely you are to have any problems with the dyeing process. Make sure to shampoo and condition your hair well. If you have any split ends, trim them before you dye your hair.

3. Mix the Dye

Be very careful when mixing the dye. Follow the instructions on the bottle exactly. Make sure to use the right amount of dye and developer, and mix them together in a bowl or cup that is specifically for dyeing.

4. Apply the Dye

Section your hair off into manageable chunks, and start applying the dye from the roots to the tips. Be sure to apply it evenly, and avoid getting any on your scalp. If you do get dye on your scalp, use a cotton ball dipped in hydrogen peroxide to get rid of it.

5. Leave the Dye in

Leave the dye in for the amount of time specified on the bottle. Don’t try to rush it, or you may end up with uneven results.

6. Rinse and Condition

Once the recommended time is up, rinse your hair thoroughly with cool water. Use a good quality conditioner, and leave it in for a few minutes before rinsing it out.

7. Style Your Hair

Dry and style your hair as you usually would. Be sure to take any pictures of your finished look, so that you have a benchmark when it comes time to dye your hair again!
I hope these tips help make the whole process much easier for you.

How to take care of your hair once dyed

Start off going slow.

When starting off with colored hair, it’s best to go slow, such as highlights or ombre the hair instead of all-over color, which can strip and damage your hair.
While it’s not required for you to go dark roots with purple hair, it tends to be easier maintenance since you will not need as many touchups as your hair grows.

Conditioner is your bestie.

Make sure you are deep conditioning your hair since bleaching tends to dry out hair. Additionally, you will want to use products specifically created for color-treated hair.

Here are a few top-rated products on Amazon:

Mielle babassu line is safe for color-treated hair, organic, and sulfate-free.

Sunny Isle products are great for African American hair that has been color-treated and is also sulfate-free.

Hair is such an important piece of your appearance, but please don’t forget about your skin too! Check out our articles sharing how to make your skin glow naturally and the best facial products for your brown skin.
