Show Top positive review5.0 out of 5 starsOne of the best toys EVER for 7 year olds and older. Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on February 6, 2016 Wow. This is one of the coolest toys ever. As a train enthusiast, I thought it would be fun to give my Lego-crazed 7-year old son a train to add to his Lego collection. I had no idea it would be such a sophisticated, well-built, high quality, functional train set. When I think of the garbage train sets I've bought him over the years, that lasted all of a week or two, I can't believe it. Those cheap sets cost almost as much as this, were much harder to set up and use, and fell apart in no time. I am sold on Lego. If the other Lego train sets are anything like this, the other manufacturers (Atlas, Walther, Lifelike, Tyco, etc) are going to have some sleepless nights. This set is just incredible, and will dominate the model train hobby very, very soon. The upside for that hobby is that it will introduce model railroading to a new generation, even multiple generations, and perhaps lead to a renaissance of that fabulous hobby. It may save us from the plague of video gaming that has led to kids the size of Bison glued to their couches. You cannot go wrong with this set. As others have stated, they don't provide much track, and straight track is hard to come by and expensive. To resolve that, thanks to a YouTube video I found, I've built track out of wood that works beautifully. Dona search for "how to make Lego track" and you'll see how easy it is. We're now building a massive train layout in our backyard that should provide the kids much fun outside for years to come. Climb aboard the LEGO® City 60197 Passenger Train! This fun set features a motorized engine with 10-speed Bluetooth remote control and opening nose cone, driver’s cabin with opening window, 2 cars with removable roofs, seats and tables, a full circular track with 16 curved and 4 straight rails, plus a buildable platform with 2 seats and train service map, train signal and 4 LEGO minifigures.
Travel around the city in no time with the motorized LEGO® City High-speed Passenger Train! Operate the 8-channel, 7-speed infrared remote control to power around the curved tracks at top speed. This streamlined, super-efficient train has a high-speed front profile and electricity contact points on top. Lift off the roof of the front car to place the driver inside at the cool dashboard and open the passenger cars to access the seats and tables. Wait for the train with the traveler at the way station, and pedal safely across the crossing with the cyclist once the train has gone past. Includes 3 minifigures: train driver, traveler and a cyclist.
Can a LEGO train go uphill?Yes, in fact that's what I did on my second approach. But keep in mind that the slope with curved tracks must be even softer than with straight tracks or the train will derail and fall from the track.
Are Lego trains battery or electric?A 4.5-volt battery powers the train, which now also runs on rails.
What is the fastest train on wheels? The World's Fastest Trains. The current world speed record for a commercial train on steel wheels is held by the French TGV at 574.8 km/h (357.2 mph), achieved on 3 April 2007 on the new LGV Est. The trainset, the track and the cantenary were modified to test new designs.
