This type of situation is very popular and has occurred to me on three occasions, received my item while it is still showing in transit.

Now the question is, why is this happening?

Honestly, the number of delivery services I contacted as to know the reason couldn’t give me a defined answer to my question.

I gave up.

Nevertheless, some of the answer they gave to me was that they had so many items or packages to handle and this might make them to skip some of items.

Seriously this answer doesn’t make any sense at all.

So what I’m trying to say on this issue of package in transit for 2 weeks, you may think something has happened to your package or the package is lost on transit, while in the real sense it has reached your destination.

2. Bad weather condition

This is another reason that a package may be stucked in transit for more than a week or two weeks, due to bad weather condition.

If there’s a bad weather condition for a certain period of time, it tends to slow down the shipment and this includes both the air transportation, land transportation or even water transportation in some cases.

If there’s a bad weather condition in a place or region where a package or products will be delivered to, it will be put on hold until everything is clear and fine.

In this type of situation your package will be stucked in transit until further development.

3. Wrong address

Sometimes this may not be caused by buyer but rather the seller or the shipping agency putting a wrong address on the package.

This type of situation is deemed as lost package because no matter how long you wait for your item to arrive, it will never arrive.

4. The package is lost

This is the final.

Your package have been in transit for 2 weeks, one month or two months and no update whatsoever on your tracking information, it is likely the item is lost in transit.

In my case I will wait for a maximum of two to three months to see if I will receive the package, and if still nothing and the tracking information is still stuck in transit, I will conclude my item is lost already.

In some cases it may be that the tracking information is not updated so as to show where the package is at.

In the case of international shipping, you shouldn’t panic at all if your tracking information shows your package has been in transit for a week because it can go as far as three weeks and it is norm because of the destination or the buyer’s destination country.
