How much is a 5000 Mexican bill worth?

I was rummaging through my drawer and found a 5,000 Peso bill. I am heading to PV in late November and thought I would take it. I was inCancun in about 1992 and it must have been passed to me then. A website says the highest Peso bill issued today is only 500 pesos. Could the bill I have be counterfeit or was there some sort of currency revaluation since 1992? Is this bill worth anything?

The Mexican government changed their money so it couldn't be reproduced and voided all those old pesos. I have one too I thought I could use. Don't throw it away, save it for a keepsake.

Several years ago, the peso was worth almost nothing, it took a zillion to one American dollar. The sign for the peso is the same as our dollar sign, $, and for a few years the new devalued pesos were called new pesos, shown as N$.

I think the devaluation was 1000 to 1, but I could be mistaken. Even if your old bill was still valid, it wouldn't be worth much.

I was just going through an old box and found a bill for 5000 Pesos from my husbands trip about 13 years ago. I didn't even think it would be worth much knowing absolutely nothing about mexican currency, but looked it up and found out it's a nice chunk of change here. Where can I go to exchange it to USD? I've never done this before - we are in Florida...Thanks for your help!

Republican Kevin McCarthy lost a dramatic first vote for speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday as hardline conservatives from his own party voted against him, leaving the new Republican majority in turmoil. In an embarrassing beginning to what could prove to be a brutal showdown between hardliners and most House Republicans, McCarthy fell short of the 218-vote majority needed to succeed Democrat Nancy Pelosi as speaker. It was the first time in a century that the House had failed to elect a speaker on the first vote.
