Description[]
“ | 'Take your plots to hell with you!' he roared, and like a sack of salt, he hurled the prince of Pellia far out, to fall through empty space for a hundred and fifty feet. The people gave back as the body came hurtling down, to smash on the marble pave, spattering blood and brains, and lie crushed in its splintered armor, like a mangled beetle. | „ |

Crafting fortifications is the beginning of a coherent siege strategy but it is the least interesting and least creative part of the equation. A good fortification includes structures that are built for a specific purpose - such as murder holes created to lure enemies through a gauntlet of deadly traps.
These siege cauldrons, filled with boiling tar, are simply another tool in the arsenal of a siege engineer. They can be used to discourage eager climbers or to wreak havoc on enemies trapped in a murder hole.
Notes[]
"Attaching the siege cauldrons to the crenelated walls will let you pour boiling oil over anyone trying to scale your castle walls."[1]
Despite the Journey Milestone stating that you pour boiling oil from the cauldron, oil is unable to be used with the cauldron.

They don't, in practice, I've yet to see a use for them.

Like this guys said. They should be used for funneling players into specific areas of attack, but because they're crap they don't actually do anything useful. They need to be able to pour through murder holes before they'll be useful. Also having a hit box 2-3 walks wide would make them amazing.

put tar in it and u can pull the lever to release a whopping 14 or so damage onto the poor soul below you if by some chance they don't miraculously move or the tar hits the wall by accident
level 2
Could you then set the tar on fire?

Siege cauldrons...how do they work?
I'm guessing you don't want to talk to a scientist.

I have a problem with the Siege Cauldron. When I interact with it I don't get any slots where I could put the tar/oil. The page is simply blank without the normal squares where you can place your inventory. Any idea ? //take.ms/nrEDI

Ok, so I asked my mate from my clan if he can see it the same way. But somehow he was able to place stuff in the Siege Cauldron. After he inserted an egg in the Cauldron I was able to do so as well. Must be a bug of some kind. At least that's the only solution I found.
