How to restart Pokemon Omega Ruby

When you start the demo, you begin by going to an island with Steven, getting the starter Pokmon at Level 35, meaning they're close to evolution. They also receive their Mega Stone and Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn or Hydro Cannon later. You then have to hunt down a Pokmon said to Mega Evolve to protect it from Team Aqua & Magma. This Pokmon is a new Mega Evolution which was not known before the release of this demo, and it changes depending on your region. Below is a list

Once you have captured the Pokmon, the first part of the demo ends, but you can go on more adventures with Steven to a variety of different island layouts and you receive the other two starter evolutions. These islands then have various tasks such as find a Pokmon, find a lost child or battle all the trainers. These change with each playthrough. After you finish the task, the demo will end again and something will change. On the 5th and 10th adventures, you will face up against an Elder with a more powerful team. You will either receive an item gift, or a new person can be found in Mossdeep City such as Gym Leaders like Flannery and Wattson, or other random NPCs including a swimmer who swam all the way from the Kalos region.

This works up to the 10th time, where you can continue to go on new adventures, but you'll no longer receive any bonuses for completion. Experience on the Pokmon resets after each adventure

Pick the wrong starter in Pokemon Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire and want to restart the game? Well, it’s not particularly obvious how to do so, but we can help.

In earlier Pokemon generations, starting a new game was a straightforward affair. Players simply needed to boot the game and choose the “New Game” option right on the main menu. That has gone away over time as the company has opted for fancy cinematics and dramatic title screens rather than the simplicity of years past.

The good news is that while it’s not obvious how to restart Pokemon Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire, it’s also not actually that difficult to do. Here’s how to restart in Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby, and what happens after it’s done.

How to start a new game in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire

Players can restart Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire by pressing up, X, and B at the same time on the game’s title screen.

After booting the game, a cinematic will show water dripping off a leaf, Latios and Latias flying around, and the trainer riding their bike. This is followed by the title screen. Instead of pressing start, if the player presses the X and B buttons alongside up on the control pad, it will bring up a new menu.

This menu gives the player the option of deleting the existing save data on the cartridge. If the player does so, it will allow the player to start a new game.

Players should carefully consider whether they actually want to delete their save data before committing. There is no official way to back up the games’ save data and it is unrecoverable once deleted. The good news is that players are able to transfer any Pokemon they want to keep onto another cartridge either by trading or by using Pokemon Bank. Pokemon on Pokemon Bank can be preserved and transferred to Pokemon HOME, allowing them to be moved to Sword, Shield, Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl, or Legends: Arceus, depending on their species.

Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire take players back to the Hoenn region from the GameBoy Advance games and adds a couple of new twists to the original titles. If you’re wanting to start your game over again, you may have noticed that there’s no option on the menu to simply start a new game.

In order to get around this, you’ll need to delete your old save file on the cartridge first. In order to do this, all you have to do is press and hold B and X and Up on your 3DS when your game is at the title screen.

Once you’ve done this, the game should ask if you’re sure you want to erase your saved game. Simply confirm, and after a short wait the game will erase your old progress and allow you to start from the beginning.

Then, simply start up the game like you would any other Pokemon title and you’ll have no problems starting off an entirely new adventure to be the very best there ever was.

Now it’s up to you to head out there, discover the new Delta Episode story that wasn’t in the original games, and put an end to Team Magma and Team Aqua.

  1. Since there is currently a save game already started, you'll have to first delete the first save data before trying to start a new game. In order to do this, you'll have to be in the main screen of the game. I think the buttons were Up, B, and X simultaneously? It should lead you to a new screen that asks you for confirmation about deleting your old data, something like "Are you sure you want to delete your old data?"

After deleting that, you should be clear for a new start.

  2. This only works between the Nintendo 3DS logo and the title screen
