Yes, but the diving portions are easily the worst part of the game.

If you mean diving deep as going on the bottom of the ocean, yes, it is available but only with the use of diving bell.

If diving deep when you perform regular swim ei. jumping from Jackdow and swimming to shore, then no. You can only perform stealth swim.

I disagree, I thought it was way more fun than island hopping for collectables.

yep. once i got far enough to unlock the diving bell i was like "sweet now i can get elite plans for the ship". did 2 of them and instantly closed the game, went to steam and bought the $1 dlc that gives you the plans without having to dive for them youself(you still need to get the metal and money though)

Really? I think they were awesome! You really need to plan to do what in what order, it looks just absolutely stunning with the fish and sharks and when you hear a whale singing and swimming by it's just incredible.

You just have to know that you steer the direction in which Edwards swims with your camera rather than the movement and then it's really easy to navigate.

In my opinion you can really look forward to the underwater sections TC. You get the diving bell in sequence 6 I think.

It's so much easier to see the world in black and white. Gray? I don't know what to do with gray.

Okay you can't dive in general randomly.

But there is something cool u might like. If I understand what you are looking for (correct me it I'm wrong)

There are these assassin contracts all over the world, and I can remember there are one or two, which will come close to what u want to experience. I'm not going to spoil them, just do them, they are surprising!

Don't look them up, just make sure you have the diving bell.

The contract at island (38,268) & at (389,325)

Play those contracts and you have a sort of feeling if free diving. Lemme know if they were cool ;)

After the bell has been lowered, Edward can dive underwater and go search out treasure or other sunken goodie and then return to the bell for respite when he needs air.

How do you dive in Assassin's Creed Black Flag?

Purchase the Diving Bell upgrade for the Jackdaw for 5000R to open the first mission for Sequence 6! Once you've acquired the Diving Bell, it will allow for Kenway to access all the Shipwrecks on the map where he can dive to the bottom of the ocean to find prizes and plunder.
