No game no life: zero age rating

Spoilers ahead, Shuvi is not Rikus blood sibling, they adopted her into the clan, that was the reason she was reffered to as a sibling.

There are supposed to be two ways to look at it.

One is that Tet couldnt remember what they looked like and he imagined Sora and Shiro as them.

However they never wanted to be apart again so that could be a nod toward Sora and Shiros panic attacks when they are seperated.

This is the first time I actually went out of my way to spend money on a physical copy of an anime. As a stereotypical anime watcher I am not very eager to spend what little money I have on stuff I do not absolutely have to. That being said, I am very very VERY satisfied with this purchase. The discs and the box came in perfect condition (I was worried they would be cracked but I couldn't find a single flaw so kudos to the amazon packaging guy). If you have not watched the show already I would most definitely recommend you watch it as soon as possible, everything about this show is beautiful. From the soundtrack to the bright colorful world it takes place in, I found myself staying up all night to watch the entire show in one sitting. However, on the back of the disc box you can clearly see the show is rated MAThis is for a very good reasonI don't know how they did it, or why they did it (fanservice ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ), but the people behind this anime somehow managed to fit a nudity scene into almost if not every episode of this show. Now personally I'm not complaining (I don't mind one bit and neither do most people who watch anime), and technically they never directly show anything that shouldn't be shown in public (they did a good job at censoring out private parts), but if you were considering buying this and watching it with mom and pop and the rest of your family I would recommend you rethink your life choices as your family will probably never treat you in the same way.Amazing showstill waiting on season twostill waiting on season twostill waiting on season two

Great funny anime wish there was a seaon 2. It's for the mature mature side I would say 15 and up. Focuses on some women to much. But one of the best animations I have seen in an anime art wise. And good story.

Music is good
English dub is… passable. It’s from HiDIVE, but not one of their best. I watch Japanese dub so that’s not really a con

The movie is a stark contrast to the lighthearted anime series where murder is forbidden and everything is settled through games. Over 6,000 years prior to the anime, death is almost a certainty as the various races struggle to survive in the war-torn hellscape they've created. We follow the main character Riku, trying to prevent what's left of humanity from getting wiped out in this war of magic and science.

I greatly enjoyed the movie. Yes, it feels rushed at times, but it can't be helped squeezing what would normally be 5 hours (12 episodes of 25 minutes) down to under 2 hours. The oppressive mood caused by the constant struggle of war and the ever-present toxic Black Ash in the air reminded me of "Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind" with a similar dystopian environment and struggle of peace-loving people trying to survive a war they cannot win. Missing, too, is the anime's focus on games and game theory, as this is prior to the ascendancy of Tet, the God of Games, and his Ten Pledges that formalized their rules. Instead, games become a side plot mechanism, and political maneuvering becomes more prominent. However, one of the main struggles of the main character, Riku, is how humans... without the magic of the Elves or Flugel, the science and engineering of the Dwarves, or the physical prowess of the Warbeasts, let alone the raw power of the Old Gods... deal with the futility of survival when they have no power to meaningfully affect the outcome of the war. The theme ties the movie back into the anime, exploring how the weakest race can ultimately become the strongest. The other theme of the movie is embodied in Schwi, an Ex Machina... a robot, who is trying to understand what the human heart is and why something so fragile and illogical can change the world. It's similar to the struggle of Leeloo in The Fifth Element, trying to study emotions from a purely objective perspective.

Overall, the plot is well-paced and the emotional journey is heavy but worth the trip. The animation quality is top-notch with excellent use of visual effects. Using the same voices for all the main characters in the movie as in the anime and references to those characters will be a nostalgic callback for fans, but people coming in fresh should still find enough here to keep them engaged. While the main character is hard to like at first, he becomes more relatable as he becomes more vulnerable, much as Sora does in the anime. While it's not absolutely necessary to watch "No Game, No Life" the anime beforehand, I recommend doing so in order to contrast the two settings and to highlight the similarities of the different sets of characters and make sense of the "present-day" scenes that bookend the main past timeline. I think the movie has more than enough merit on its own, though, especially in this day and age, exploring what keeps us going when the struggle seems futile and showing us what happens when we set aside our differences and learn to understand one another. 9/10

With an amazing sound track, beautiful visuals and story overall. You do not need to really have watched the anime first before watching this, however seeing the anime (season 1) will make watching this a better experience. It really makes you appreciate the story more, and even though I haven't read the visual novels, the writing in this movie alone is beautiful in its own right. The pacing is great, nothing is rushed and everything shown had a purpose utilizing every aspect of what the story could offer. I really would want to have more and gain a conclusion to the story, for really this movie hit me in a way that was really different. Highly suggest watching this, grab some popcorn, grab a pillow, get ready for a emotional roller coaster because this movie will make you love this franchise.
Please Yuu Kamiya, make more manga and anime for this!

You're certainly going to want to watch the series before this movie, as it shuns too much exposition.

That said... WOW!

No Game No Life was always visually amazing, and this is, as well. The story is fast-paced, and while it seems to rush a few things, you pick up fairly soon that it was deliberate. In such a world, some things must happen faster than they do in reality.

It's heavy, but it's careful. This is one that knows very well anime is a world full of the unexpected, and it does seem to enjoy leading you down one hypothesis after another, which keeps you involved and engaged.

Plenty of mystery remains after watching, which adds to the experience. I don't want to go into any detail, because confusion is part of the ride. Know that ahead of time. It's not all going to be explained, but the pieces you need to put together your own interpretation are provided.

This doesn't hold your hand, it doesn't slap a message in your face, and it doesn't stick entirely to tradition. You are clearly intended to come up with some of your own beliefs in relation to the characters and their actions, and that's a wonderful thing.

Everyone will come away with a different perspective.

Oh... And the combat... Honestly, from a sound and visual perspective, this is likely the absolute best you'll ever see. It's beautiful; as if Rembrandt somehow got hold of more color. It actually reminds me a lot of Heaven's Lost Property, in that respect, but with a bigger budget.

So, even if you're not interested in drama, you'll be in for one heck of an action treat every time something goes pear-shaped. Nobody has done it better, and you'll be thinking about all the older shows that could use this theatrical pick-me-up.

Watch the show, watch this, and be amazed. If things seem confusing or rushed on occasion, put a bit of thought into why, and it will make sense. This isn't a "turn your brain off" film; nor is it stuffy. It's exactly what it should be, with just the right touch of humor carefully placed where it belongs, and never placed where it doesn't.

One of my all time favorite series so I just had to have it. Excellent story line, great characters and good animation. I love Anime and if it makes me laugh and keeps me engaged it gets a thumbs up from me. This does both with style. Now for all the people who say "Oh the sub is better" or "The voices just don't fit the characters" stop moaning and just watch the sub and in the real world peoples voices don't always match your expectations of what they should sound like. So to conclude I've had my moan and still think this is definitely worth a watch.

Wow, amazing product at a great price, box art is great, art cards are cute with lots of moe shot of the characters and with 2 dvds 2 blu rays and 3 cd soundtrack discs the value speaks for itself.

As for the show. The story is fun with great prospect however with only 12 episodes and no follow up series in sight it does leave it very open ended and wanting more. So fingers crossed for a 2nd series

4.0 out of 5 stars Was expecting more along the American release, but still worth buying!

Received this a day early, admittedly not as good as the American collectors edition as it only includes the prints on top of the soundtrack and DVD/Bluray combo. Everything included is beautifully presented however, with English 2.0 and Japanese 2.0 audio to make everyone happy.
