Pokémon GO forgot email and password

Having trouble accessing your Pokémon GO account? This article details troubleshooting steps for how to solve various sign-in issues.

“Unable to Authenticate” and “Failed to Log in” Error Messages

You may receive “failed to log in” or “unable to authenticate” error messages if our servers are experiencing a temporary issue or your network connectivity is poor.

Check to ensure your mobile device has a strong network connection, or wait a short while, then try logging in again. If the issue persists, try closing and reopening the Pokémon GO app.

Password Help

Your account password is maintained by your login provider: either Google, Facebook, Apple, Pokemon Trainer Club, or Niantic Kids. Because Pokémon GO does not collect or store your external account passwords, our support team cannot access or reset the password of the external account you use to log in.

To change or reset your password, please visit your login provider's website:

  • Facebook: For information on resetting or changing your password, visit the Facebook Help Center.

  • Apple: Visit this Apple support page for help changing your password.
  • Pokémon Trainer Club: visit the Pokemon Trainer Club website to reset or change your Pokémon Trainer Club password. For further assistance with Pokémon Trainer Club, you can reach Pokémon support here.

  • Niantic Kids: Visit this page to learn how to reset your parent or child account’s password.

What happens if you stop using Sign in with Apple with an app

When you stop using your Apple ID with an app, you're signed out of the app on your device. The next time you visit the app or its associated website, you can either select Sign in with Apple to sign in again, or create a new account.

If you choose to use Sign in with Apple again, you're signed in to the same account that you previously used. Some apps might let you create a new password for your existing account so you can sign in again without using your Apple ID.

If you delete your account in an app where you use Sign in with Apple, you might receive an email from Apple that the app has revoked your Sign in with Apple account. If you want to create a new account with that app, you have to share your name and email address with the app again or create a new account using Sign in with Apple.

If you stop using Sign in with Apple with a developer of multiple apps

Some developers might use Sign in with Apple to give you an account for more than one app. If that's the case and you turn off email forwarding or stop using your Apple ID for one app, it applies to all apps from that developer.
