Depends on the model date of Red Label you have Pre-93 guns have a different choke system and thread pattern than the 93 and later.

Ruger has had two different styles of threads for the Red Label 12 ga guns. Older ones are a standard Winchoke/Browning Invector/Mossberg choke threading, newer chokes are threaded for Briley brand choke tubes.

If your gun is before 1993 then I would get extended tubes. The Browning Invector original type choke tubes are very short and don't pattern as well as todays longer choke tubes.

I assume you're talking about 12 gauge.

Thanks all, mine was first yr with tubes, mid or late 80's. I worked for a distributor, Camfour, at the time and opened up every box of the 20 guns we got and picked some beautiful wood. Its been used pretty hard though.
