Our Verdict: The RX 580 is faster by 78% for 1440p gaming. The price/performance ratio is much better for RX 580 .
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
The GTX 1060 6GB might be the entry-level flagship of the latest Pascal set of graphics cards, but their prices keep them out of the reach of most budget PC gamers. On the other hand, the GTX 1050 Ti is closer to being reasonably affordable at a price tag of $ 169. NVIDIA ’s xx50 cards have always been defined by budget prices with performance that knocks on the door of entry-level graphics cards – especially when overclocked. After taking the time to fully test the Pascal graphics card inside the GTX 1050 Ti, we can say without a doubt that it continues the trend.
The GTX 1050 Ti has 4 GB RAM compared to the GTX 950 's 2 GB video memory. In our synthetic benchmarks, the GTX 1050 Ti blows past the GTX 950 and, amazingly, even the GTX 960 as well.
Unfortunately, gaming performance was not quite as impressive. Even if the GTX 1050 Ti consistently delivers frame rate increases over the GTX 950, the gain is not much to justify an upgrade. Whether it is a justifiable upgrade depends on what graphics card you are upgrading from. Users with a GTX 950 will not see a remarkable increase in frame rates after paying more for this GTX 1050 Ti. Similarly, those holding onto R9 380 's R9 280 graphics cards will not have a reason to jump teams yet.
For 1080p Full HD, we were able to play Valorant at 80 fps to 80 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 80 fps. For 1440p Quad HD, we were able to play Valorant at 66 fps to 66 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 66 fps.
AMD Radeon RX 580
AMD ’s xx80 cards have always been defined by mid-range prices with performance that knocks on the door of high-end graphics cards – especially when overclocked. After taking the time to fully test the GCN 4.0 graphics card inside the RX 580, we can say without a doubt that it continues the trend. The RX 580 is much more cheaper than the RX 480 as it costs $ 229. Compare this to the RX 480, which came originally at a price of $ 400. Meanwhile, the NVIDIA closest equivalent card is the GTX 1060 6GB which costs $ 254.
Unfortunately, gaming performance was not quite as impressive. Even if the RX 580 consistently delivers frame rate increases over the RX 480, the gain is not much to justify an upgrade. For 1080p Full HD, we were able to play Final Fantasy XV, Apex Legends, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, F1 2019, Overwatch 2 at 62 fps to 68 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 65 fps.
For 1440p Quad HD, we were able to play Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Fallout 76, World War Z, Battlefield V, Valorant at 64 fps to 107 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 74 fps. For 2160p 4K, we were able to play Valorant at 93 fps to 93 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 93 fps.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti / i7-6700K
The GTX 1050 Ti 's power requirements are reasonable and it is very efficient compared to the competition. With regards to max load temperature, the GTX 1050 Ti 's cooling is excellent at keeping it cool and under control. With current 4096 MB RAM, the GTX 1050 Ti can have very few memory-related bottlenecks in more modern games.
AMD Radeon RX 580 / i7-7700K
At 1440p, RX 580 can hit 50-60 fps on pretty much everything at ultra, just without antialiasing, less ambient occlusion and turned down shadows. It is clear that the RX 580 is a significantly more capable high-end card that can play AAA titles at 1080p/1440p with 50-60 frames per second. The price/performance ratio is excellent for RX 580 against the competition in budget mid-range cards. In terms of memory, the RX 580 's 8192 MB RAM is more than enough for modern games and should not cause any bottlenecks.
