The scrap metal prices per kg, listed below, is for the ‘clean metal’.
Often metals are coated with other metals, or are attached to other metals when turned into everyday items.
Aluminium roller shutters for example can have the aluminium coated with steel, the box the shutter rolls up into often has a steel rod & aluminium radiators can have steel welded to them.
Metal products that are not in their clean ‘pure’ state, including being coated with plastic or paint etc. will be paid a lesser amount.

The easiest way to determine whether your item has a steel component is to use a commercial grade magnet. If the magnet sticks, you have a ferrous metal in your hands, such as steel. If the magnet doesn’t stick, you have a non-ferrous metal, such as copper, aluminium, brass or stainless steel.

The only way for us to give you an accurate scrap metal prices on items you have is to physically see the item in question, so feel free to come in with your items for valuation.
