Sweater | Leggings | Boots Besides “What nail color is that” and “Where is that shirt from”, the most asked question on my Instagram page is “How do the SPANX faux leather leggings fit? Since they are a pricer pair of leggings, I get it. You really want to know if they are worth it or not before you spend the money. Well, let me tell you, they are worth EVERY penny. (Also before we get into it let me tell you, this is NOT a sponsored post. I did receive the SPANX Mama leggings c/o Red Dress Boutique but the faux leather ones I purchased on my own. I wanted to address your questions about them all in one spot so that you all had a reference to go to if you were thinking about purchasing them and just in case I can’t get to all of your DMs). ********** Are they worth $98? Yes, yes and yes again. Once you get these leggings and wear them a couple of times, you will look at your $20 leggings and laugh. Now, don’t get me wrong, I still wear some of my $20 leggings around the house on lazy days, but if I’m headed out the door, I’m wearing the Spanxs. The material of these leggings is thicker and you can feel that they are well made. Not only that, they suck you in. Who doesn’t want that?! They are high rise (goodbye post baby flab) and overall just make you look and feel like a million bucks…so $98 is SO worth it. Do they run true to size? Personally, I sized up a size (and not because I’m pregnant – all of my legging pant sizes have stayed the same under the bump). If you look at the over 1K reviews online, many people sized up. Since they are a tighter legging (they have to suck you in somehow), the medium fit best for me – I’m usually a small. Also, I’m 5’4 and I don’t have to roll them up or cuff them at the bottom. Do they look really “plastic”? One of my least favorite things about leather leggings is when they look really fake and like cheap plastic. These ones do not look that way at all in real life. They look like nice, real leather – not too shiny or fake looking. What’s the difference between the Spanx Nordstrom version & the Target version? I’ve had a couple of you message me, asking me what the difference was between the Target Spanx faux leather leggings & the regular ones (besides the $60 price difference). So, I ordered the Target version so that I could see for myself and let you know. To me, they didn’t fit as well and they didn’t feel as thick and well made. They did look exactly the same, real like leather wise, but they didn’t feel the same on the skin. The band that goes around your belly also felt different, not as fitting and flattering. I’m pregnant. Should I get the Faux Leather Leggings or the Mama Maternity leggings? I wore the faux leather leggings until I was about 7 months pregnant (under my bump) until they became a little bit too tight around the bottom of my bump. Then I got the Mama Maternity leggings and almost cried because they were so comfortable. SO, if you are pregnant, I would say invest in the maternity ones as you could wear them throughout your entire pregnancy AND after. They stretch to go over the bump and are a thicker material so you feel sucked in without it being too tight on the bump. Boots | Leggings I also own 3 pairs of just the regular Spanx leggings and absolutely LOVE them! They are my go-to black leggings as they suck you in, are high waisted and don’t fall down! (I also size up one in these and wear a medium). Hoping this post answers all your SPANX questions! Thanks for stopping by and thanks for reading! 3,629 I’m excited to share the ultimate maternity leggings review! Everything you need to know about the best maternity leggings including pros and cons of each! I’m reviewing 6 different maternity leggings in hopes that when you need to order, you will have all the information you need to make an informed purchase. A few of these were gifted, but most of them were purchased with my own money. All opinions are totally honest and unbiased. This post isn’t sponsored at all. My normal pre-pregnancy size is a small, and I am 5’10. Spanx Faux Leather Maternity LeggingsI love my Spanx regular leggings!! I’ve done posts about how to style them here and here. It was a no-brainer that I wanted some Spanx faux leather maternity leggings! They were kind enough to send me a pair too, so I was thrilled to try them out.
Zella Maternity Leggings in Camo and BlackI have been a long time fan of Zella leggings. I own them in the regular, and they have always been my go-to everyday leggings. A friend of mine passed on her black Zella maternity leggings, and they have probably been my most worn pair. The panel is the same legging material as opposed to being a different type.
Motherhood Maternity Essential LeggingsMotherhood was kind enough to gift me these leggings. They are the softest, stretchiest pair I have.
Beyond Yoga Maternity LeggingsI ordered these Beyond Yoga maternity leggings on a whim during the Nordstrom sale, and they are my new favorites! I ordered the blue because I had the black Zella. However, they come in black too! The panel of them is the same material as the legging just extended up, like the Zella.
PinkBlush Maternity LeggingsPinkBlush has an amazing selection of all maternity clothes, especially active and leggings. They were kind enough to send me this pair of fun pink leggings! They are more of an active legging with a Nylon/Spandex blend as opposed to cotton.
The Best Maternity Leggings to Buy: Final ThoughtsThere you have it – my ultimate maternity leggings review! So what are my overall thoughts and recommendations? In my opinion, the best pair is the Beyond Yoga. However, they do have a heathered look, so if you want an all around pair for everything I recommend the Zella in black. I’ll leave it up to you and your preferences on which of those two to pick. If you are pregnant in fall/winter at all, I highly recommend the faux leather Spanx for an easy way to dress up your leggings/add some edge. It’s nice to have two pairs and one a little different than the other in my opinion. Style on the Daily Weekly Link UpShould you size up or down in Spanx leggings?Should I Size Up or Down in Spanx Leggings? I say order your true size if you want a good amount of compression and order a size up if you still want them to be form-fitting but not SO tight. I can wear either a small or a medium for a more comfortable fit and I'm usually a 2 and wear a small in most things.
Do Spanx leggings come up small? However, the leggings run on the small side. Going based on the size chart, I would've normally ordered a medium, but after reading several purchaser reviews, I decided to go up one size to large and am glad I did.
Does Blanqi run small?Do Blanqi leggings run small? Yes, they do run a tad small. Order one size up and they'll last you through your third trimester.
Can you hem Spanx leggings?Yes, Spanx leggings can be hemmed.
