1.0 out of 5 stars Two different pills in the same bottle.
Reviewed in the United States on October 28, 2019

Two different types of pills in the bottle. One is a capsule and the other a caplets. This is concerning. I am returning the item as I'm now not sure about the consistency of the ingredients or even the content of the bottle.

I'll stick with just reviewing this product here, but I would suggest to anybody if you're suffering from anxiety to seek out a therapist and talk to somebody. It can be really hard to manage anxiety on your own and most people tend to self medicate and get into trouble. Certainly lots of stories about drug addiction and alcoholism related to anxiety and depression. It's unfortunate people have to reach the bottom before they ultimately make a change for the better.

There's quite a few YouTube videos out there that describe the chemical activity of what L-thearnine does. I'm not a chemist, but as I recall it turns off glutamate receptors and increases Gaba production. To put that another way it stops the body from reacting to extreme stress to began with, rather than slowing everything down and killing your energy.

I would say you really notice the effect when you drink coffee. Typically coffee starts the racing of my mind, gives me the jitters, etc. and with L-Thearnine you just get the focus without any of the jitters.

And also I'll share a personal story: I suffer from extreme (panic attack) extreme reactions to flying. Not so much about the actual fear of crashing or turbulence or things like that, but rather being cooped up for an extremely long time and not being able to do anything about it. Comfort has pretty much gone out the window with flying, and to me it's just short of a prison sentence to fly international for 20+ hours in a chair that reclined 15°, particularly if you suffer from back problems like I do. It is a guaranteed panic attack for me, and I tend to white knuckle it the whole way through. I start to worry a month in advance I hate it so much.

L-Thearnine doesn't do anything for my back pain, but it does prevent the extreme fight or flight response. It helps to keep my digestive system regular, and maintain my appetite, which typically disappears with panic attacks. It can also help me to remain calm and clear and just stay focused and in the moment, instead of worrying excessively and feeling out of control. My thoughts don't race.

The other nice thing about L-thearnine is it can be mixed with most other drugs and herbs. The one thing that is far different between this herb anything else I've tried is you really don't even know it's working, until you suddenly realize you're just not having the same reactions that you normally do. You are not going to feel sedated or drugged. In fact, I don't feel any different at all, and really questioned whether or not it was working.

All I can say is give it a few days or possibly a week, and you'll suddenly realize one day that you're not getting quite us freaked out or upset over stress and anxiety like you use to.

Just bear in mind that this does not alter your mood like a benzodiazepine would or something like ashwaganda. You're pretty much going to feel just like yourself, but with the ability to handle stress better due to regulation of your system.

And I find that my mind goes to those old thinking patterns pretty quickly when I encounter stressful events, it's just that my body doesn't respond the same way it use to, namely it curbs panic attacks. That doesn't mean it eliminates anxiety completely. It just tones it way down.

For those more stressful events you may still want to combine with another herb like Kava or ashwaganda. If you tend to experience muscle tension as a result of anxiety then you may still need to take something to relax your muscles. Still working on that one for myself, but I also have real physical problems that cause back pain.

So, bottom line here is this works, but it's not some miracle herb that's going to completely eliminate all your anxiety. As I started to say in the beginning if anxiety is your problem than going through some cognitive behavior therapy is probably needed. This is a Band-Aid not a cure.

Suntheanine, a patented purified form of the amino acid L-theanine is apparently not an extract of green tea but rather is produced from it. It has over 40 patents and has been studies for over 18 years now.
I've used it coming up on almost 7 years now. I take it with coffee, usually in late morning, and have found that it is one of the few supplements I take where I notice, within 20 minutes, a real difference in my ability to focus. It's really true that it induces as relaxed focused state of flow.

I don't take it every day as I have found the with daily use the effect wane over time. I cycle between this and other nootropics like mushroom blends containing Lion's Mane. This brand has been consistently effective for me so I've stuck with it.

Highly recommend.

So mine weren’t stuck together, and seem to work pretty well. The main thing is they don’t give me heartburn & haven’t made me sick. I’ve had gastric bypass & have to be careful with capsules, and so far so good with lots of water. I was bummed to see that others said they wouldn’t help those that got theirs stuck together-so o did some research to confirm what this companies policy is-under their profile they said they wanted a photo if the product arrived damaged? So hopefully, of you follow their returns policy they will stand by their product. I haven’t had this issue though-and if I do & i find they won’t stand behind their product I’ll update my review & find something else.

This might or might not work for everyone, but my 13 year old son and I have been using this for few years now. It helps him with anxiety and focus in school. I give him one in the morning + his multivitamin+ Onega3. It does not take all the anxiety away, but just enough. I also take it for stress and sleep. When I take it, I can definitely tell the difference. The nights I need help with sleep, I take 2 or 3 capsules and after an hour I feel relaxed and get some sleep. One thing I wished they didn’t change is the shape of the capsules. They used to have egg shaped, and my son called it the egg pill, which made fun for him to take.

The pill is relatively small, easy to swallow, and doesn't have a bad smell. The first night I took the pill, I actually was able to fall asleep faster and woke up rested. It definitely helps lower my anxiety and stress levels during the day, and I can easily fall asleep without feeling tired the next morning. My husband decided to try it, and he saw the same effects.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does seem to help with reducing stress levels

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on November 25, 2021

I won't lie, my experience with this wasn't life changing (as some other reviews claim) but these L-Theanine tablets do seem to help with stress levels.

I had read (on Reddit, which is a great resource for reading up user experiences - less so for politics...) that searching for a brand that includes "Suntheanine" was well worth the extra money. I have no means of comparison with a brand that doesn't include it but I'll, most likely, be ordering these again soon.

One thing to note, if you drink these with caffeine, they do have an interesting effect. I usually feel more focused (caffeine) but much less tense. Hard to explain but it seems to be get me through from 11am -1pm with almost no "lagging" feeling on those "long day" workdays.

I haven't tried these at night to test how well it works for sleep, however.

5.0 out of 5 stars Anxiety no more!!

I recently started acting and i would get so nervous before auditions that i would get severe migraines the next day. I started taking these and i was able to manage my anxiety the same day and now i dont get migraines from the anxiety anymore!

This stuff is great for when your adrenaline is really high from stress and everything just feels like its the end of the world. This pill makes a real, tangible difference. It makes you feel kind of heavy, and a little less sharp, but not sleepy or lethargic. It takes your anxiety way way down. You can still think and function normally, but you dont feel like an exposed nerve ending. Highly recommended!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing for sleep & mood - highly recommend

Reviewed in Canada on February 8, 2021

This product is absolutely life-changing for me. I have OCD, ADHD and generalized anxiety disorder. The supplement has helped me sleep (Are usually wake up about 5 to 10 times a night), but taking this I sleep soooo much better! I now wake up only 1 to 2 times a night. I also find it really helps with my mood and gives me a really good sense of relaxation. I do wish that it was a little lower in price though.

5.0 out of 5 stars wouldn't be without them

Great supplement which has helped with my anxiety and sleep. I have tried other brands in the past but find that this one suits me best and works well for me keeping me calm and relaxed during the day. Will continue to use this above other brands

5.0 out of 5 stars Good extra strength product.

Product works very well as I felt calm within 15 minutes and it helped my over anxiety and outlook for several hours. The dosage is great for sleep and particularly stressful events. Due to the cost and not wanting to be reliant on such a potent version, I will use a lower dosage product for during the day and use these primarily at night or stressful times.

Does caffeine and L

The combination of L-theanine and caffeine improves cognitive performance and increases subjective alertness.

Is L

People use L-theanine to improve mental function. It is also used for anxiety, mental impairment, stress, and other conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support these uses.

What are the negative effects of L

The most common side effects of L-theanine dosage include headaches, nausea, and irritability. However, the nausea appears to be mostly linked with L-theanine being administered through green tea rather than dietary supplements.

What medications should not be taken with L

L-theanine may interact with the following drugs and supplements:.
drugs for the treatment of high blood pressure..
other supplements that lower blood pressure..
stimulants, such as those that doctors use to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
supplements that contain caffeine..
