Star Trek: Discovery season 4 Pluto TV

It’s good news for Star Trek: Discoveryfans as part two of season four of the sci-fi series is here, and is once again back on Pluto TV for viewers in the UK.

That’s one of the more unheard of streaming services in the country, so how exactly do you access it, and what can we expect from the final half of Season 4?

Here is everything you need to know about it.

Star Trek: Discovery season 4 Pluto TV

What is Star Trek: Discovery?

Star Trek: Discovery is the seventh Star Trek series. Debuting in 2017, it was the first since Star Trek: Enterprise concluded in 2005.

It follows the crew of the star ship Discovery, beginning a decade before Star Trek: The Original Series.

But, at the end of the second season, the Discovery travelled centuries into its future, which has been the regular setting for subsequent seasons.

What happens in Season 4?

The fourth season of Star Trek: Discovery again follows the crew of the USS Discovery.

It’s set more than 900 years after the events of Star Trek: The Original Series, as they help rebuild the United Federation of Planets following a cataclysmic event.

They soon face an unprecedented space anomaly that causes destruction across the galaxy, a metaphor for the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Sonequa Martin-Green stars as Michael Burnham, captain of the Discovery, along with the returning Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Mary Wiseman, Wilson Cruz, Blu del Barrio, David Ajala, and Tig Notaro.

The season premiered on Paramount+ in November 2021, with the first seven episodes airing until the end of December.

The remaining six episodes - part two of the fourth series - are set to be released from 10 February to 17 March.

It’s good news for Star Trek: Discovery fans as season four of the sci-fi series has officially announced its new home for broadcasting in the UK - Pluto TV.

Previously, it was streaming giant Netflix that distributed the series in the UK, however fans were left in shock when the season four launch on Netflix was axed following the announcement that the show would premiere exclusively on Paramount+, with no plans to air the new season in the UK until some time in 2022.

Following outcry from fans and even Star Trek: Discovery cast members like Anthony Rapp, who plays Lieutenant Commander Paul Stamets, a new arrangement has been made to roll out season four in the UK on Pluto TV.
