Hydrofera Blue READY® is intended as an external dressing for use in local management of wounds such as pressure injuries, donor sites, venous stasis ulcers, arterial ulcers, diabetic ulcers, abrasions, lacerations, superficial burns, post-surgical incisions, and other external wounds inflicted by trauma.

The dressings are not indicated for third-degree burns.
The dressings should not be used on individuals who are sensitive to or who have had an allergic reaction to the dressing or one of its components.

This material is not an implant.
Do not reuse dressing.

Cleanse the wound in accordance with established procedures. Carefully dry the periwound tissue.

Select the appropriate dressing size to ensure the dressing will cover the entire wound. The dressing may be cut in order to optimize placement over wounds on heels, elbows, etc. Apply the dressing with the foam side towards the wound and shiny film side up. Secure the dressing using a bandage or a tape over the film surface. The dressing can be applied under compression and total contact casting.

Removal & Change Frequency

Hydrofera Blue READY® can be left in place up to 7 days, depending on the exudate and clinical conditions of the wound. The dressing should be changed if it turns white. If the dressing has retained its color where it is in contact with the wound, the dressing may be left in place for up to 7 days. Duration of use is determined by the health care provider and depends on wound type and conditions.

Does Hydrofera Blue have to be moistened?

As with many wound care dressings, moisture balance is key. If the dressing is dry, thoroughly remoisten with sterile saline or sterile water, then gently remove the dressing. Moisten the tip with sterile saline or sterile water to aid with ease of insertion.

Which side of Hydrofera Blue goes on the wound?

Apply the dressing with the foam side facing the wound and the shiny side facing up. Secure with a secondary dressing of gauze or tape. Hydrofera Blue READY-Transfer Foam Dressing may remain in place for up to seven days.

How often should you change Hydrofera blue?

a. If the dressing has retained its blue color where it is in contact with the wound, apply a new dressing and leave in place for up to 72 hours. b. If the dressing has turned from blue to white or lightened in color, the dressing should be changed every 24 hours until it retains its blue color.
