The Kane Chronicles is a thrilling series for readers 9+, by bestselling American author Rick Riordan. Show Rick Riordan’s books have won awards and sold millions of copies all over the world. Best known for the Percy Jackson series, his books have brought many young readers to mythology with their modern twists and dry humour. The Kane Chronicles does for Ancient Egypt, what Percy Jackson did for Ancient Greece. The books follow the story of Carter and Sadie Kane, the kids of a brilliant Egyptologist whose secret plan goes horribly wrong, accidentally unleashing the Gods of Ancient Egypt. Carter and Sadie embark on a terrifying quest to save their father, discovering their own family history and magical powers in the process. It’s best to read the books in order, starting with book 1 The Red Pyramid. The exciting and imagination-fuelled adventures, packed with humour and fantastical characters, are guaranteed to keep readers 9+ gripped.
