What to wear to law school orientation Reddit

Depends on the school. Some places, you’ll want to wear at least slacks and a button-up, some places, you can probably get away with jeans, a t-shirt, and a hoodie.

The full nude approach works everywhere, though.

What to wear to law school orientation Reddit

Maybe it's a silly question, but what's the "expected" attire in law school? I did my undergrad online so I've never been in a college setting and I have this image of law school being full of folks in business clothes.

We have a one week orientation too. Jeans and a polo? Tie? The whole suite/tie getup?

What about in class? Is everyone dressed like an undergrad (leggings and pajamas or barely anything) or is it kept more professional?

Wearing my UVA law tshirt (I committed to Michigan)

The answers I’ve seen online range from nude to a full tuxedo so I really have no idea.

Im planning on doing something between casual/business casual.

level 2

My experience… I (M) wore a full suit and once I got there immediately took the tie and jacket off because I was over dressed. Hindsight, I would’ve wore a nice pair of pants and my nicest polo and it would’ve been perfect.

Wear the gear of the school you wish you got into but didn’t

apple bottom jeans, boots with the fur

The whole club was looking at her

I know this is a very memeable answer but literally anything aside from the most casual of casual shit is fine. T-shirt and shorts is fine. Slacks and a polo is fine. Tank top, bathing suit and Crocs might get some looks. Don't wear a suit. For the love of God don't wear a suit.

level 1

really anything that you're comfortable in. lots of people might wear something leaning more toward business casual for at least the first day, so you can go that way if you prefer. you definitely do not need to wear a suit or business formal.

level 1

Casual. Not business casual, just casual.

Al dente, or at least it can feel that way.

Bathing suit and / or werewolf outfit

I’ve been switching it up every day (going into my 4th day of orientation). Day one and today I wore business casual. Friday and tomorrow I was/ will be more casual. I’m wearing jeans and a nice blouse tomorrow with nicer shoes. Today I wore very nice slacks and a nice top. People have been almost exclusively bcas or nice casual

level 1

you already got in. And i doubt law students dress up to class everyday. Just wear whatever you are comfortable in. Im not in any schools yet but if i was going to an orentation, I would also try to wear something that makes me fit in more and increase the chances of e making friends.

level 2

I second this. Something that makes you more approachable than intimidating is probably better.

Mine states business casual most days. If there's no requirement I'd go on the nice side of casual personally

level 1

shorts/skirt and a t shirt probably. it’s hot here.

level 1

Business casual at the absolute most, and you'll probably be overdressed doing that.

level 1

Depends on the school. Mine is formal for some events, business casual for the rest.

level 1

i have no clue but leaning towards casual. we were told convocation is business casual but no dress code for orientation which is making it harder to o figure out what to wear.

level 1

At my orientation last year a substantial percentage were wearing athleisure. Most were casual (jeans, shorts, tshirts, a casual dress, etc.) Very few business casual. Just wear something comfortable
