When should I fight Cleric Beast

What weapon are you using?

Have you levelled up yet?

Have you gotten either the Hunter Garb or Yharnam Hunter Garb to replace the starting attire?

I suggest fully exploring Central Yharnam before taking on Cleric Beast, you'll get 1000s (even 10,000s) of Echo's if you kill everyone, as well as acsess to 4 primary weapons and your choice of Pistol/Blunderbuss, and the Hunter Set found in the sewers massively increases your defense over the starting clothes.

The thing that will help you the most against Cleric Beast is upgrading your weapon. To upgrade a weapon you need Blood Stone Shards and a small amount of Bloof Echo's. There's a few spread around central Yharnam and the skinny hunchback dudes can drop them as well. If you're really struggling you could farm them for a bit and get your weapon to +3 which will add a heap of damage. You upgrade weapons at the work bench inside the Hunters Dream.

Use whichever weapon you like the most (I suggest getting the Saw Spear and Saw Hunter Badge and trying them all) but be aware that "serrated" weapons do 20% bonus damage against Beasts. The Untransformed Saw Cleaver, Transformed Threaded Cane and both forms of the Saw Spear are all serrated.

Leveling up will also help, more Vitality is always useful, and more Endurance is good to. Depending on what you want to do later Strength and Skill are good investments (STR if you want to use heavy weapons, SKL if you plan on using fast, quick weapons, Leveling both is fine to unless you're planing on min/maxing for PvP). Skill also increases Viscal attack damage, which is very useful.

Bloodtinge and Arcane should be left well alone, at least for a while.

For the fight against Cleric Beast it's best to not lock-on unless you're attacking him with a ranged weapon. Try stay behind him, and always leave enough stamina to roll away a few times.

He's weak to Fire, so bringing Molatovs and Oil Urns can make it a very easy fight. Oil Urns double the damage of the next fire attack, so Oil Urn followed by a Molatov to the face will take off a huge chunk of health. Speaking of hitting his face: doing enough damage to it will stun him and allow him to be Visceraled (press R1 when standing in front of stunned enemies) it looks cool and does loads of damage.

With Hit'n'run tactics and some Molatovs he should go down very easily, especially with a +2 or +3 Serrated weapon. Killing him will unlock some new stuff at the shop, but isn't mandatory. That being said the first mandatory boss is much harder and Cleric is a great tutorial on how to fight big enemies.

After beating him your next objective is to get good at parrying and attempt the next boss.

Good luck.

Most people fight it at level 10 or whatever they start the game with.

Unless you use a Madmans to get your first insight to level up.

Either way the answer is 33.

Strength barely makes a difference IMO.
I'd go with health.

Level 20 is more than enough.

And, for damage, upgrading your weapon is much more effective this early.

For the boss, be close and, if possible, behind him. Dodge his attacks. It is fairly easy for a "Souls" game.

Good luck.

Playing now: Binding of Isaac, Shadow of Mordor, Dust, Sunset Overdrive, Clash of Clans.
Wanting to play/finish: Angband, FC4, LBP3, Trine 2, TR.

You can kill the cleric beast without leveling up. So anywhere from 4-15.

If you are going to level up I would focus on VIT and END at the beginning. Then either STR or SKL based upon what weapon your using.

Is Cleric Beast the easiest boss?

The Cleric Beast is the first boss in Bloodborne, so it's natural that it would be one of the easiest.

How difficult is the Cleric Beast?

The Cleric Beast is the first boss you'll fight in Bloodborne, and fortunately, it's not too difficult to take down. The trick is to try and dodge its fairly slow attacks and circle behind it, hit it with a combo of attacks and save enough Stamina to evade its counter.

What is the Cleric Beast weak to?

Strategy. The Cleric Beast, like many other Beast enemies, is weak to both Fire and Serration damage; this allows the player to take advantage of the Molotov Cocktails in the area, as well as causing two of the three starting weapons to work well against it.

What weapon is best against Cleric Beast?

Any weapon will work well against the Cleric Beast. The faster weapons like the saw cleaver and threaded cane will be good for getting in loads of quick hits to its legs and rear, while heavier weapons such as the kirkhammer and hunter axe will stagger it more easily.
