Why cant I call out my hunting wagon rdr2 online?

Why cant I call out my hunting wagon rdr2 online?

Just unlocked it (thank god!) and drove around with it stockpiling carcasses and whatnot until it was full but wondering how do I dismiss it when I'm not using it and call it when I want it? I read someone here does that and all there carcasses remained intact when they called it. Thanks for the help.

level 1

Easy - select it from the stable listing on your player options. Select the vehicle and then dismiss. You can call it back 2 minutes later. Dismiss your horse and get it back same way.

level 1

Left on the D-Pad, stables, vehicles

level 1

If you get disconnected do the pelts disappear like on the horse or do they stick around like in the satchel?

level 2

your wagon is persistent.

level 1

My biggest problem with the hunting wagon is the hunting wagon not being able to get to me, even though I am standing on a road with a pile of carcasses off my horse.

If I pick up a carcass to take to the wagon, all the others disappear once I am out of range.

I don't know if this is common knowledge, or if I'm making it more complicated than it needs to be, or whatever, but I've found I can have both out together.

After dismissing my horse and calling the wagon, I go into the horse stable menu and change my active horse (then I wait for the timer to run out so I can switch back to my preferred horse, though I don't know that that's necessary). After doing that, whistling will spawn my horse with my wagon still present.

Again, I don't know if I'm just late to the party here, or if there are bugs associated with doing this, but it seemed useful to me. 🤷‍♂

That's interesting. And both the horse and wagon repspond to your calls? Does the wagon respond to your whistling at all? I've never really used it yet. Otherwise since it's a bug the wagon or horse might just disappear after a while. Maybe if you move far enough away. But if it does work as normal then it would indeed make the wagon a lot more useful.

As far as I've been aware, the wagon never responds to whistles; only horses. Yeah, the "despawning at distance" part has me a bit concerned about the wagon's permanence. I mean to experiment with it, but I haven't taken the time to yet. My assumption would be, though, that you could whistle from the wagon and have your horse follow, like with any other wagon.

Never mind. False alarm.

I did a little experimenting and learned that once you get your horse back, the wagon becomes useless; you can no longer stow kills in it. Too bad. You can, however, dismiss your horse again and call a new wagon out, with your previous one still there. That does make me curious how many duplicate wagons the game would allow to be in one area before it despawns one. I might test that some time, just for s***s and giggles.

If nothing else, at least this is a quicker way to get back on your horse than driving your wagon to a stable.

What do you mean driving your wagon back to the stable? From what I rememeber you can just send it away the same way as with your horse. Or maybe through the quick menu. I've only summoned it once so far to try it out.

Can you? I thought I'd tried that and it wasn't an option. Ah, well. I'll just keep learning through the process, lol.

In the Stable menu you can make the wagon instantly despawn

There is also an option in the menu to whistle for the wagon, occasionally it works

Yeah. It's similar to summoning special vehicles through the popup menus like in GTA Online, if you're familiar with that. (Like the Avenger aircraft, the Mobile Command Center and the Terrorbyte)

^ This. When I'm out hunting, I put the first perfect carcass on my horse (bigger carcass, like a deer, I mean; I can still hang a couple rabbits or raccoons off the sides). The second big carcass means I'm heading to the nearest trail carrying that carcass with my horse following, and when I get close to the trail I drop the one I'm carrying, remove the one from my horse, dismiss the horse and call up the wagon from the Player Menu. Toss the carcasses in the wagon, dismiss it, then whistle up my horse and go on my merry way.

I've noticed that even when game is plentiful, the wagon makes it harder to hunt, because it causes so much goddamn ruckus that game scatters well ahead of it, meaning I either have to go on foot to hunt, or dismiss the wagon and go on my horse until it gets full again, then call the wagon back.

The good news is that the wagon will hold your perfect carcasses in perfect condition for days, so there's no rush to get the stuff back to camp (if you even have a camp, which let's face it, you don't, because nobody does anymore for more than about a minute and a half at a time, lol)...

How do you get a hunting wagon out?

Stand at a road and press left on the d pad. Select stables > vehicles > owned vehicles > press a on your hunting wagon to call it. If you're positioned correctly your wagon should start driving towards you on the road.

Is it worth buying the hunting wagon in rdr2 online?

Is The Hunting Wagon Worth It? In our opinion, yes. If you want to take the Bounty Hunter role seriously, it's a fantastic purchase that ultimately helps you load up more bounties, dead or alive.
