Allowing people to comment on your videos is a great way to interact with others and build connections on TikTok.

You can choose who can comment on your videos in your settings:
In your account privacy settings, you can choose who can comment on your videos:
•  Everyone (only for public accounts): If you choose Everyone and you have comments turned on, then anyone can comment on your video.
•  Followers (only for private accounts): If you choose Followers and you have comments turned on, only people following you on TikTok can comment on your videos.
•  Friends: If you choose Friends and you have comments turned on, then only your friends can comment on your video. Friends are people on TikTok who you follow and who follow you back.
You can also turn off comments on all your existing videos at one time in your privacy settings. This means you don't have go to each of your videos individually to turn off comments.

You can turn comments on or off for each of your videos:
You can turn comments off or on before you post a video, or for an existing video.
•  If you turn comments on: The group you selected in the Who can comment on your video setting for all your videos can comment on this video. For example, if you chose to allow only your Friends to comment on all your videos, then if you turn on comments for a single video, only your Friends can comment on your video.
•  If you turn comments off: No one can comment on your video.

Reporting comments:
TikTok is always working to maintain a safe, positive, and friendly community. Learn how to report comments that you think go against our Community Guidelines and block other accounts so they can't comment on your video. Keep in mind, if you block an account, that person can't view your videos or engage with you through direct messages, comments, follows, or likes.

Please review the Privacy and Safety settings for users under age 18 for more details on your comments settings.

Comment on a video

1. Go to the video you'd like to comment on.
2. Tap the comment icon on the right of the video.
3. Tap Add comment, then enter your comment.
4. Tap Send.
If a comment could be considered inappropriate, a prompt may appear to ask if you want to reconsider posting it. Keep in mind that inappropriate comments could be removed.

Pin a comment on your video

When you pin a comment, that comment will be the first one everyone sees on your video.

To pin or unpin a comment on your video:
1. Go to your video's comments.
2. Press and hold on the comment you'd like to pin or unpin, then tap Pin comment or Unpin comment.

To replace a pinned comment on your video:
1. Go to your video's comments.
2. Press and hold on the comment you'd like to replace your pinned comment, then tap Pin and replace.

A few things to remember when you pin a comment:
•  You can only pin one comment at a time. If you'd like to have another comment pinned, you can replace the existing one.
•  You can pin your comment or anyone else's comment on your video.

Add comment filters for videos you post

To filter all comments:
1. Tap Profile in the bottom right.
2. Tap the 3-line icon in the top right to go to your settings.
3. Tap Settings and Privacy.
4. Tap Privacy, then tap Comments.
5. Below Comment filters, tap to the right of Filter all comments to turn on or off.
If you turn on Filter all comments, comments on your videos will be hidden unless you approve them.

To filter spam and offensive comments:
1. Tap Profile in the bottom right.
2. Tap the 3-line icon in the top right to go to your settings.
3. Tap Settings and Privacy.
4. Tap Privacy, then tap Comments.
5. Below Comment filters, tap to the right of Filter spam and offensive comments to turn on or off.

To filter comments with keywords:
1. Tap Profile in the bottom right.
2. Tap the 3-line icon in the top right to go to your settings.
3. Tap Settings and Privacy.
4. Tap Privacy, then tap Comments.
5. Below Comment filters, tap to the right of Filter keywords to turn on or off.
6. Tap Add keywords and enter keywords to filter.
If you turn on Add keywords, comments on your videos that have those keywords will be hidden unless you approve them.

To review your filtered comments:
1. Tap Profile in the bottom right.
2. Tap the 3-line icon in the top right to go to your settings.
3. Tap Settings and Privacy.
4. Tap Privacy, then tap Comments.
5. Below Comment management, tap Review filtered comments.
6. Tap Approve or Delete below the comment you'd like to review.
Note: Just as you can also use tools to delete certain comments on your videos, other users might also choose to delete comments you posted on their videos.

Manage comment privacy settings for all your videos

Choose who can comment on your videos:
1. Tap Profile in the bottom right.
2. Tap the 3-line icon in the top right to go to your settings.
3. Tap Settings and Privacy.
4. Tap Privacy, then tap Comments.
5. Below Who can comment on your videos, choose who you'd like to allow to comment.

Manage comment privacy settings for one of your videos

Before you post a video:
You can choose if you want others to comment on this video in the final step before you post a video.
1. Create your video.
2. On the Post screen, tap the toggle icon next to Allow comments to turn on or off.

For an existing video:
1. Go to the video you'd like to update. You can find your videos on your profile.
2. Tap the 3-line icon on the right.
3. Tap Privacy settings at the bottom. You may need to swipe left.
4. Next to Allow comments, tap the toggle icon to turn on or off.

To delete a comment you posted or that was posted on your video:
1. On the video, tap the comment icon on the right to get to the comments.
2. Press and hold on the comment you want to delete.
3. Tap Delete.

To delete comments on your video in bulk:
1. On the video, tap the comment icon on the right to get to the comments.
2. Press and hold on a comment or tap the pencil in the top left corner.
3. Tap Manage multiple comments.
4. Tap next to the comments you'd like to delete. You can select up to 100 comments.
5. Tap Delete, then tap Delete to confirm.
