I was really disappointed to see that both of Naruto’s children don’t have red hair, is this because the Uzumaki red hair is a less dominant trait?

Boruto shouldn't have blonde hair either then...Blonde is a recessive gene and both parents need to carry the blonde gene for a child to have it. All the Hyuugas are shown with black/dark hair, so Hinata doesn't carry that gene...by all rights Boruto should have brownish/dark hair

Red hair genes tend to skip generations, so it would actually make quite some sense to have any of his children have red hair.

I really don't think Kishimoto started working on the genetics when coming up with the designs for the children, especially when we know he forgot to give them the Byakugan.

Well, Naruto didn't even inherit her red hair, which means it's a recessive trait for him to pass it on. That meand he would have to have a child with someone with purple hair or someone with a recessive red hair gene to even have a CHANCE. And well, that's not Hinata.

Because clan specific jutsu have to be taught, even though you may have an affinity toward them or less difficulty in learning them.

Unlike Kekkei Genkai, which are techniques (usually) unique to a clan passed down genetically, clan specific jutsu - or Hiden - are passed down through teaching/orally.

We’re not sure if at any time Masashi Kishimoto, the series’ creator, toyed with the idea of going with red instead of yellow. We may never find out for certain, but at least we now have an idea of what could have been.
