How to get into the FEV lab fallout 4

Ok, so I'm in the Institute and trying to get evidence of Virgil for Li as well as trying to get the serum for Virgil and I can't find a way into the lab. I lack the ability to hack master level computers so I'm unable to turn off the gate and when I went in via the novice locked door, I ran into a dead end since the the path is sealed with a door and I can't find a button within reach to unseal the doors so I can progress.

Am I missing something or am I just screwed because I didn't read hours ahead to know I was supposed to be leveling hacking skills?

As you can see the path to continue is sealed by a door with no visible way to open it and everything I've looked up seems to suggest that the doors shouldn't even be closed to begin with so I've no idea how to get past it.

Wish I could better describe the back way in - but it's through a side tunnel that leads to a supply room and around the back of the supply room leads to the old section corridors that go to the abandoned FEV lab. Looks and feels a lot like going through the abandoned sections of Black Mesa... *LOL*

Yes, that's the part I mention that has sealed doors. If you look in my previous post, I've posted screenshots of the area being sealed off even though everything I've looked up seems to suggest that it's not supposed to be sealed.

I did that once, except I purposely pressed that red button that closes/opens the doors. Locked myself out by accident. Only way in I'm afraid is to go through the other end where the laser grid is. If you hack the terminal, you can turn the laser grid off and get in that way.

That or use tcl in the console commands to get through to where the red button is and press it to open the doors (if you don't know what I'm talking about. Look at your second screenshoot. It's the red button on top of the consoles that you see through the window next to broken windows next to the radiation arches. Normally, you'd be able to press the button once you get through, but in your case, you can't because it's locked from the inside.

Yeah, I've already cheated my way through. Hate I had to do it, but I've no idea why the doors were closed when they aren't supposed to be and I didn't wanna wait and level up hacking and risk having Virgil become hostile and being unable to give him the serum. x_x
