Best place to take family pictures near me

"The Deering Wildflower park is a pleasant place to take a stroll. The easy 1/2 mile loop takes you through a native woodlands that makes you feel miles away from civilization. There are several side trails that will give a walker options to vary your routine. A bench at the pond offers a very nice spot to watch for birds and admire the view, or to read your book while soaking up nature. The parking area is at the end of the road, easily found and well marked."

"What a beautiful space! Thankfully, lululemon is utilizing the grassy area for spring/summer outdoor yoga. The City of Charlotte (?) keeps this area so nice & well-kept. Plenty of people use this area to walk, run, & the kids use it to play. As Casandra mentioned, there is some nice art to look at. Additionally, the stone archways make for a nice backdrop for photography/picture taking. The only downside is you have to park at The Met, since there isn't any street parking."

Inside Union Station is absolutely beautiful, but you also have areas around the station that makes this location a great spot. There is an alley between Wynkoop and Wazee with nice red brick and a beautiful butterfly mural. The architecture in the back of the station looks amazing and I love the fountain in front of the station during the spring and summer months!

2. Commons Park, 15th & Little Raven

I LOVE this spot because it’s so versatile! On one side you have a lot of green and two beautiful rows of carefully placed trees. It’s a great picture! But on the other side you have the beautiful Millennium Bridge which has so many spots for a great photo!

4. Washington Park

Washington park is big! Really really big! But there are three spots in particular that I love using. One is on the northeast corner of the park, off Franklin and Virginia. Around sunset you have a beautiful view with the lake and boat house in the background. The other two spots are at the flower gardens. One is off Exposition and Downing and the other is at the Franklin and Mississippi entrance.

5. City Park, behind the Denver Museum of Nature & Science:

When people google Denver they usually see the mountains and the skyscrapers in front. The best spot for this shot and for your next family photos would be at City Park. You have to enter off Montview and Colorado in order to capture this view.

6. Silo Park

Although it’s a small park it has a ton of character! I enjoy coming here throughout the year because of all the different backdrops that it has to offer. It has evergreens, a cute little fence, a silo, cherry blossoms in the spring, and beautiful fall colors!

10. South Valley Park

Just south of Red Rocks is the little know South Valley Park. They are not as famous as Red Rocks but just as beautiful! I personally prefer this spot because there are less people and I feel like there are more options for pictures here. We absolutely LOVE THIS LOCATION BUT it only works well at sunset or if it's cloudy.

Honorable Mentions

The Hudson Gardens in Littleton, CO.

We love this new spot that we started to visit. It gives us a great option for a garden setting south of Denver. With our annual permit, we can visit anytime from sunrise to sunset, but we need a 5-day notice.

Botanic Gardens York Street

There is an additional fee of $75 for the photo permit and it pays for everyone's entrance.

We love photo sessions at the Denver Botanic Gardens because it has so much to offer. We have to schedule a week before and we have to keep an eye out for early closures. We only schedule shoots here during the week because of the crowds that we have to work around during the weekends.

Lookout Mountain Park in Golden

Once upon a time this was our go to spot for forest and mountains within the Denver metro area. But over the past year JeffCo has placed barricades all along the beautiful lookout points and we are no longer able to access them. It's still beautiful and we could still have some nice views, but it's no longer the same.
