How many words for T-shirt in Spanish?

Do you know how to say T-shirt in Spanish? Did you know there are 8 different ways to say it? Spanish is spoken in many different countries. With such a variety of places that speak the language, you will also find many differences in vocabulary.  Let’s take a look at some of the different names for T-shirt in Spanish.

First, we have probably the most common one and chances are one that you have heard before and that word is Camiseta. You will hear this word used in Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, Honduras, Dominica Republic, and Nicaragua.
In Venezuela, they use the name Franela for T-Shirt. In Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico they will call it Franela. Over in Bolivia and Chile, they will call it Polera. Then in Peru, it is known as Polo. On the island of Cuba, it is called Pulóver. Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay use the word Remera. Lastly, we have Panama and they use the word that could be confusing and that is Suéter. Which to some people that should be a long sleeve wintertime type of clothing but in Panama it is used for T-shirt.
