Should you sell Groot or Rocket in Guardians Of The Galaxy?

Ultimately, neither option is better. Although they take you on very different paths through the Monster Queen’s fortress, you can still find the same outfits and collectibles, and you’ll still earn the same amount of units. Okay, you’ll either earn or steal them, but you can get 12000 units regardless of the option you choose.

After saving Groot or finding the vault, you will need to escape the fortress. The escape plays out the same regardless of the option you choose. Hellbender will find you and unleash the Dweller in Darkness, which is the first proper boss battle in Guardians Of The Galaxy.

It's important to note that, although you sell either Groot or Rocket in chapter 4, you make the decision about who to sell in chapter 3. Once you start chapter 4, the decision is locked in and cannot be changed.

What happens if you sell Groot?

If you choose to sell Groot, Lady Hellbender will negotiate a price with your team. You can get 10000 or 12000 Units, with the higher amount available if you let Drax negotiate rather than Star-Lord.

This will then lead into a stealth section in which you sneak through Lady Hellbender’s fortress. You will fight enemies a few times throughout, but there aren't many battles, making this a rather slow-paced option. After a brief journey through the fortress, you will reunite with Groot and make your escape.

What happens if you sell Rocket?

If you choose to sell Rocket, prepare for chaos. Lady Hellbender will find the offering hilarious, which makes Rocket angry. He then unleashes an attack on Hellbender and her forces. This will lead you through an assault on the fortress as the Guardians Of The Galaxy try to locate Hellbender’s vault to steal the Units they need.

Otherwise, the choice essentially boils down to whether you want to explore Lady Hellbender's castle or blast your way out Star-Lord style. Either way, you need credits to pay off your debt to Nova Corp, so it's time to choose.

Sell Groot

If you choose to sell Groot, you'll get 10,000 credits for him. If you let Drax negotiate for you, there's a chance you'll get 12,000. Don't worry about not seeing him again, though; there's a stealth sequence later on where you can fight a few enemies and solve a puzzle to get him back.

Sell Rocket

Ultimately, Lady Hellbender doesn't see Rocket as a worthy trade offer. She'll laugh at you which incenses him and then it all goes a bit pear-shaped. You'll end up in a lengthy fight and trapped in a vault with poison gas. Luckily, there's also 12,000 credits in this vault, so remember to pick that up.

The decision is yours, but either way, you'll end up with the money and you won't lose any party members.

Chapter 4 of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is called ‘The Cost of Freedom’ and it begins with the crew needing to decide how to pay back their fine to the Nova Corp. Eventually they decide to try and sell either Groot or Rocket to the infamous Lady Hellbender on Seknarf Nine.

First up, don’t worry too much about your decision since you won’t lose either character in the grand scheme of the story. Secondly, you’ll get the chance to change your decision before the start of the next chapter.

What Happens If You Sell Groot?

If you decide you want to sell Groot to Lady Hellbender, she will agree and offer you 10,000 credits for him. However, if you let Drax negotiate with Lady Hellbender, you can earn up to negotiation 12,000 credits for Groot.

Make sure you also don’t back down at any stage, just ignore to prompts and Gamora will save the negotiation.

Following the sale, you’ll have a stealth mission to rescue Groot, eventually leading to the chapter’s final boss battle.

What Happens If You Sell Rocket?

If you decide you want to sell Rocket to Lady Hellbender, then she will straight up laugh in your face, and Rocket, being a hot-tempered Trash Panda, will start shooting and causing a scene leading to your escaping.

Basically, all pretense of stealth will go out the window and you’ll end up having to shoot your way out of Lady Hellbender’s fortress.

It’s also worth noting that you’ll eventually get stuck in a vault with poison gas and you’ll be able to find 12,000 credits lying around in a container, so make sure to grab those whilst escaping.

What choice is best? Sell Groot or Rocket?

Ultimately, it doesn’t matter. You will anger Lady Hellbender either way, and both choices pay out 12,000 credits it’s more a decision based on whether you want to play a stealth mission, or a firefight mission.

Admittedly you get to see a bit more of Lady Hellbender’s castle, but if you can’t stand stealth missions you’re not exactly missing out on much.

So just choose whatever playstyle you would prefer before the big boss fight with the Dweller-in-Darkness towards the end of the chapter.
