How to grow baby hairs on forehead Reddit

I have these pesky short hairs that frame my face, particularly at the center of my forehead and at my temples. I have naturally thick hair that generally grows quickly, however, these particular hairs remain short (about 2 inches long). It's especially noticeable when I put my hair up in a ponytail or bun. I've noticed flyaways since I was in middle school. As an adult, it seems like I'm only getting more and more. I wear glasses on a regular basis, and I wondered if the hair is getting caught in them unbeknownst to me, and as a result causing the hair to break.

Does anyone know why these hairs don't grow, or why the hair framing your face is prone to this? Any suggestions on how to grow them out or minimize their appearance would be much appreciated!

I'm a girl with long hair and my hairline does that too. Those are called baby hairs and they're either in the process of growing or broken, and they're very normal. The hair around the hairline is very delicate.

When you pull your hair up into a ponytail or bun, make sure you don't pull too hard on the front and that there isn't too much tension pulling that hair back. Try either keeping it loose, or some looser hairstyles like a low ponytail keeping your part while you sleep or as much as you can. It'll take a few months for it to grow longer.

It doesn't look bad though.

Good luck there isn't a way to get it to grow really fast

level 1

If you do a side part I feel like it won’t be as noticeable

level 2

This is the only real answer. Side part to cover it up while it slowly grows out. Or bangs but that’s an even bigger commitment that will also have to be grown out.

level 1

Wear hats and headbands in the meantime!

level 1

Did you do this because of flyaway baby hairs by any chance?

level 2

What's flyaway baby hairs?

level 1

I have done the same thing. Unfortunately I just had to work around styling it differently until it grew back. Good luck. Let me know if you learn any better tips :)

level 1

Lmaooo I did the same thing girl I try letting it grow out then I just end up doing it again 😭

level 2

SAME this is the second time i've done this

level 1

I did the same thing in high school, you’ll just have to wait for it to regrow! Side part will hide it better. Just treat your hair well so it doesn’t split or break.

level 1

Hair grows as quickly as it grows. Usually about half an inch per month. Try parting it differently to camouflage it? Maybe a side part?

level 1

Maybe you could get some of those clip on bangs until it grows out.

level 2

They make clip on bangs??

As the title suggests, I have these annoying baby hairs that start near my hairline and are about an inch or so in length. I hate them. They annoy me. I wish they would just magically disappear. Also, they make my hairline look weird and jagged, or maybe my hairline is just weird and jagged in general. Judge for yourself! http://m.imgur.com/Oa0xXYh.

So, I don't what to do. Should I get a line up and shave it off, and start a regular regimen of getting my hairline lined up?

Do I wait for these baby hairs to grow longer and grow in with the rest of my hair, if possible?

I really can't just ignore them, I constantly grab at them and wish I could burn them off so they never grow back.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My forehead is big and squared. It looks like my hairline is receeding honestly. Is there any way to make the hairline grow or to get more pronounced baby hairs?

Topical 5% minoxidil and oral 2.5g minoxidil plus oral finasteride 1mg.

I wasted so much precious time trying nonsense until I found the above clinically proven solutions. Please consult a doctor.

A hair transplant should be left as a last resort.

level 2

Do you take all 3 at the same time? I always thought it’s one or the other

level 1

So the only thing that's actually going to make new hair grow is minoxidil. It will grow new hairs but the con is you have to stay on it and when you stop the hair falls out. Do some research but it's the best thing for actual growth

If you want to keep the existing hair healthy you can do castor oil treatments, scalp massage, and use a gentle sls free shampoo/good conditioner.

level 2

Yep, after using it daily and stopping, mine just fell out again. Ugh

level 1

Rosemary oil works just as well as minoxidil in a clinical setting. I've used it myself over the past year and definitely have seen my hairline fill in with baby hairs. It's cheap and all natural. Love it.

level 2

Would you mind sharing more about how you like to use rosemary oil please?

level 2

In two very small studies that also used thyme, lavender and cedarwood oil

level 2

What brand of rosemary oil ?

level 1

Rosemary and herbal hair growth oils. I lost a lot of hair, especially around my hairline, during a stressful time in my life. It was to the point I could see through to my scalp when I was under harsh lighting. Which was, like, a never-before-seen thing for me. So! I found an herbal oil with a bunch of cool stuff in it on Etsy and started oiling my hair most nights (I was desperate). Can confirm it works — I have the longest, softest baby hairs now. I pulled my hair up today and squealed to my fiancé about all my new hairs. He was impressed and is wanting to start using some on his beard, even! I’ve never had so many soft cute hairs in my life. As a bonus, I’ll work the excess down into the rest of my hair and it makes it all soft and happy!

level 2

Can you please share the name of the oil

level 1

Mielle rosemary oil! I have so many small hairs around my hairline now thanks to this!

level 1

If you have longer hair, you can ask your hair stylist to cut you some “fake” baby hairs.

level 1

Maybe try Bondi Boost! I have seen people have results with the growth spray. I am on my first bottle now.

level 2

Hi! Other commenters are correct about the minoxidil.

BUt! I also use the BondiBoost Hair Growth line. It's shampoo, conditioner, and a spray.

And The Ordinary has a multi-peptide serum meant for scalp.

This combination is what has CC hanged my hair game.

When I started taking px thyroxine to treat my hypothyroidism, my baby hairs grew back along with some overplucked eyebrow hairs I thought were gone forever.

So, maybe check your hormone levels? Completely anecdotal, I had a friend in college who had one eyebrow fall out. He went on steroids or hormones of some kind and it completely grew back.

level 1

So I bought the Oui hair scalp serum and would massage it into my hair line and scalp. And I have a whole new baby hair army of hair line popped out 2-3 weeks later. I’m a little skeptical to repurchase that scalp serum cause it was $50 for a tiny bottle like no. But I’m gonna continue using reg argon oil I have in the house and see how it goes. But massaging ur hairline is really ur best bet for home remedy. I know it’s tedious but stimulation promotes growth.

level 1

I use the ordinary multi-peptide hair serum at night and 1-2x per week I apply and massage castor oil + rosemary oil on my scalp before washing my hair. It takes some time to work and I have to be consistent with the routine.
