Unbearable sting. Cannot say if it is the same for everyone but definitely not for me.

    5. Sandpaper

Feels like rubbing sandpaper on skin. I mixed it in with a cream, and still the feeling remained. It also greased up my face bad! I wish I could love it,the price point is great. But...I won't be repurchasing. Just can't get past the gritty texture

    6. A lovely product!

I love this product. It makes my skin far softer and vibrant. Highly recommended!

    7. Amazing results

Yes it feels gritty but my skin has also never been so soft! A bit of sting in the first week but not unbearable. Definitely keep using this and buying continuously

    8. Hot sand

This is horrible. The texture feels exactly like when you have sand on your face and have to reapply sunscreen at the beach. I never have issues with products being too harsh but this made my face sting. Yuck!

    9. I hope this is helping!

This is pretty strong and the first time I used it, I rubbed it down onto my neck (which can be slightly sensitive) and I got a nasty rash. I think it has brightened up my skin. Start slowly.

    10. Good

Another good product from the Ordinary

    11. A bit gritty but it works

This product does have a texture that takes a bit of getting used to but it does deliver on what it says it does. I wouldn't recommend using it alongside any acids (exfoliants or others), and as the suggestions highlight, do not mix it with Niacinamide. Glad I watched Adore's informative videos on how to use this product with others as it doesn't like to be mixed with a lot of other serums.

    12. Great Vit c option

great affordable option for a vit c product to incorporate into your skincare routine. I mix this with my moisturiser before applying. I find that it smooths the texture of my face out with consistent use.

    13. Nice vitamin C cream

I bought it for my boyfriend and he is quite happy with it. He has oily skin and he uses it everyday.

Another good product from the Ordinary, slight tingle and grainy texture but soakes in well and leaves skin look smoother and brighter

    17. Good result if you tailor it to your skin

I have been using this product for 2 years. Took a while to get the hang of the routine. I use it after my TO AA+B5. I use very little (less than quarter teaspoon) and add 1-2 drops of TO AA + B5, 2-3x/week, during the day (+/- other serum) with a good moisturiser afterwards. The high concentration can cause sensitivity but I feel you need to tailor the use to your skin (how mich, how often etc). ...

Great budget option but because its so gritty I struggled to enjoy wearing it

    19. It hurts

I've used most of this product and honestly I'm not sure what it's supposed to do. I don't really notice much other than the fact that my skin gets super glowy. I also have dry/sensitive skin and this product burns my skin so much, I feel it makes my rosacea more prominent! And it's super grainy and unpleasant to touch. I'm sure it's great for other people, but just not me.

I noticed impressive results from this product after only 2 uses. Be sure to moisturise after though!

This product left my skin feeling tight and bright. I have been using it of an evening on alternating nights with the granactive retinol from the ordinary. 24. Not the Best

This definitely leaves my skin looking brighter and tighter when I wake up. But this really stings my skin badly. When I first started using it the stinging was almost unbearable. I had to mix it with a moisturiser for weeks before I was able to tolerate the stinging. It also feels horrible on the skin, it balls up as well so I only apply at night as makeup will slide off I found. I find when I ha...

    25. A great starter Vic C for me

I wanted to try a Vit C product, this seemed a good option as I love my other TO products. I have noticed a small improvement in my dullness and mild facial marks after using tis for about 3 weeks, every second night. I will say, took me a while to get the hang on the consistency - I learned it won't pill with further product layers if I mix it in with my HA + B5.

    26. A bit of a weird texture

really didn’t love the texture. It felt very siliconey which I didn’t enjoy.

    27. A fan

I really like using this as part of my night routine. My skin looks tighter when I use this

    28. Great antioxidant for the morning skincare routine!

I use it as part of my morning routine as an antioxidant. So far, I have been really enjoying it. I was looking for a Vitamin C serum on a budget and this was the perfect option. It may sting when applying it so be warned but I personally enjoy it! It's a stable formulation in an easy to use packaging that won't run or colour your pillows orange. I will definitely be repurchasing!

    29. Not a fan

It stings (although you get used to it), it smells metallic, it stains your pillowcase and it is gritty. Do I wake up looking amazing? Yes. If you're not bothered by smells then great, but I will be looking for a different vitamin c option.

I’ve been wanting to try a Vit C to address some dull skin & pigmentation issues, thought this would be a good start due to the price & also since I’m happy with my other TO products. After about 3 weeks of use every second night, I’m starting to see some improvements. Just an FYI - I find it gritty and prone to pilling in subsequent skincare steps if I put it on alone, however mixed in with my TO...

    32. excellent product

You can tell by the f/b that this is an excellent & trusted product.I am adding my own 5 stars with my review also - highly recommended

    33. excellent product

Ive been very skeptical of this brand because its so inexpensive. But, my concerns have resolved, it does what it claims to do. I can only handle this every 2nd or 3rd night at present......but its new to my skin & vit c does A LOT for skin - so I dont consider this an adverse effect - adverse effects present differently. This is an affordable & effective product - recommended

    34. Beauty is pain?

Before I go into the biggest downfall of this product, I do want to mention that it does brighten my skin really well. I wake up looking so fresh and glowing, which is exactly what I was looking for from this product. However, as I’m sure you’ve seen in most the of comments above, the stinging upon application is VERY apparent. I use the tiniest amount (the consistency is like a watered-down cream...

    35. I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone

I have dry resilient skin(the opposite of sensitive) and this product burnt so bad I had to take it off. It has sand texture inside so feels like an exfoliator. I tried to wash it off but I couldn’t because it’s more oily than oil, it’s unwashable.

    36. Good basic Vitamin C option

Bought when on a budget. Can make the skin a little on the oily side. However, can't complain with the price of the product.

    37. Too Strong for me!

My skin is not sensitive, but the product stings and causes redness even when I mix a single drop of it with another product to dilute it. It didn't stop after a few tries. I used a cold jade roller to calm it down eventually after applications, and the results were very good if I gritted through it and left it on, but I'm not sure this was the right product for me. I have Combination/Oily skin, s...

It's too strong for my skin. I'm not sure if I applied it too much or not. And I can't bear with the scent either.

    39. not sure

I got this with high hopes for the high concentration of vitamin C. However, it is quite oily and tends to make me look greasy (I have oily skin already). I also think it can sting a bit so I mix with moisturiser and use only at night. I do like the glow it gives me the next morning. For me, it's a suitable mask/ face treatment once in a while.

    40. Great product

I didn’t know what to expect with this product but was pleasantly surprised. It does sting a bit on first use but the skin gets used to it. You also don’t need to use very much.
It is a bit gritty as many reviews say however if you mix it with something like Hyaluronic acid on your fingertips then apply them together you do not notice the gritty texture.

    41. Not for a skincare novice

I’ve used vitamin c products in the past, however whether it’s the formula or the fact my skin is much drier in my 30s but this product stings on application. I also find it doesn’t go well on top of any skin care product I’m using with it. It is effective and does what it says it will do, but I don’t think it’s the best choice for a sensitive skin.

    42. glow

I like using this at night. It can moisturise well

    43. Good but quite rough

The texture of this is quite rough, it says powdery but it's definitely more course than that. I think it is good but doesn't work well with other products, so best used under others or on it's own. My skin does feel like and soft after using it, if you can get past the texture.

    44. I really wanted to like this

I really really wanted a cheap vitamin C product because I had luck with another serum but it was getting too expensive for me as it was over $60. I wanted to try this because I've liked other The Ordinary products. I have super sensitive, dry and dehydrated skin with acne scars. The other serum I used really brightened my skin and reduced my scars. I used this one and it burned my skin so badly a...

    46. Stingy but good!

The product is a tad challenging to the nose(smells a bit dodgy) and yes it stings (makes your face feel alive!) BUT if you can overcome these challenges this product is absolutely smashing - glowy skin and a smile on your face please note use sparingly honestly it’s fab

    47. Basic vitamic C product

If you want to incorporate vitamin C into your skincare routine without spending a bomb, this is the product for you. It's not the most cosmetically elegant product - it really is like gritty little pieces of vitamin C suspended in a tacky lotion. But if you can get past that it really works.

    48. Great product

Love this product, use it every night and always have glowy skin the next day. My skin is a bit sensitive to it but I just mix it into my moisturiser and no more tingling.

    49. I saw visible results!

I used this prior to the transition to skinceuticals CE Ferulic. I did see visible results on my skin - it was lighter, not as dull, and some pigmentation got lighter. It does sting though so just an FYI.

    50. Prefer to use at night

Not completely sold on it - has a lotion consistency, with a gritty texture and gives my skin a itchy tingly feeling. Because of this I prefer to use it at night, but usually prefer a C for the AM. But after 6 weeks use with the TO Serum in the AM I can see some fading on my sun spots. Wouldn't purchase again though.

    51. Great for the price

Left my skin looking a lot less ruddy and textured, the product did have a slight gritty texture but I probably wouldn't have noticed if I didn't read the reviews prior. The only downside is that my nose was peeling for a few days and there is quite a bit of stinging at first (both of which subdued once my skin got used to it).

    52. Wanted to like this

This sounded great to me, but the concentration of Vit C must be a bit high for my skin since I found it quite irritating, along with the texture which is a bit gritty.

    53. Not sold on this product

I'm not overly keen on this product, I found the texture of this gel/serum to be quite gritty and greasy and makes my skin feel really irritated and itchy. Applying it at night, I was finding my skin to be nice and bright the next morning but the itchy lips and eyes mean this product probably isn't for me.

    54. Its ok

I needed something to help brighten my skin and was referred to this product. As soon as i put it on i got a tingle sensation which i read was normal. I cant say ive noticed a difference. The texture is a little off putting and its hard to add moisturiser/nightcream on afterwards. I would recommend a serum but will keep using to see if any changes in the next few weeks.

    55. Good value for money

My skin tingled upon application for the first week of use. The texture is powdery/gritty, but it goes well under moisturizer. Good value for money.

    57. hard to get just a little out of the bottle

as soon as I open the lid, it starts rapidly oozing out.
You only need a TINY amount, so the fact that so much rushes out when you open the product is quite wasteful. I made the mistake the first time it happened of deciding just to put it all on my face and neck. Oh my gosh - I regretted that.
It does take a few uses for your skin to not sting - definitely make sure not to use it on...

    59. not sure

it's a bit oily in texture, I'm not entirely sure this is for me. I like the brightening and hydrating effects the day after

    60. Not for sensitive skin

Even after reading reviews and knowing this is not for sensitive skin, I got excited and purchased this hoping it would work for me. It really irritated my skin and took a week to die down.
Learn from my mistake! I recommend going with their gentler C products if your skin is reactive.

    61. Cheap

This Vitamin C has a gritty texture and does tingle upon application. Have only applied at night (as recommended) and it goes well under moisturizer. I don't enjoy the powdery feel of this vitamin C and will try the Suspension 30% in Silicone.

    62. It's ok

I had to initially start using this cream by diluting it with my face moisturiser until my skin got used it it. 68. A bit scratchy

I really want to love this product - Vitamin C and HA together, what could be better! But the HA spheres in this makes it quite scratchy and I find myself avoiding it and reaching for other products.

    69. Smoothen my skin but tingly

This product definitely smoothen/brighten my skin but irritates even applying very small amount. So I use this more like a mask 1-2 times a week, apply and leave for 5-10min then wash it off :)

    70. Great value Vitamin C!

I don’t mind the texture of this vitamin c. Some people may not like the grittiness. It can tingle slightly and you do need to research and be mindful of what other products you are using to ensure they don’t negatively interact. For the price it is great value. Since using this my skin tone is noticeably much brighter and smoother. I’m onto my second bottle!

    71. Awesome Vitamin C Cream - but don't mix it with the wrong products!

This product is amazing for the price point. I've noticed my skin being brighter and more even-toned after a few days use. It does tingle a little, but it tingles a lot if you mix it with the wrong products! I accidentally used this after using 'The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%' and it burned much more. 72. Bad texture

I was dissapointed by this product. I'm a huge fan of The Ordinary products, especially their retinol and AHA. But this Vitamin C has the worst texture. It feels very heavy on your skin and if you rub it at all it starts pilling into little balls on your face. I have tried it a few times as the price is so good, but I can't stand to keep it on for more than a few minutes. I would not recommend it.

    73. Love it

This is great for my hyperpigmentation

    74. A little gritty

Feels a bit gritty when you first spread it on but I think I look a bit more even now

    75. Affordable Vitamin C

I like how accessible this is compared to other vitamins C products though the texture is a bit strange

    76. Great value vitamin C

I love the vitamin C brightening effect even though the texture of this leaves something to be desired

    77. New to this product but liking it so far

Avid 'The Ordinary' user and have recently added this to my regime. As it states, it can give you the tingles but easily sorted if you mix it with your moisturiser. I've been using it every few days and have noticed that my skin seems a bit more even and vibrant. Price point is great, too!

    78. Not bad!

First night using it and so far I think i like it.

    83. Stingy!!!

Not a fan at all of this product, i read the reviews before buying and thought i would give it a go as it was a lot cheaper than the other vitamin c product i had been using. I have even diluted it with rosehip but i don't think i can bare the stingy sensation anymore. Maybe its not made for my skin. I do like the feel of the grain though.

    87. Necessity

I absolutely love this product! It has cleared my skin of redness and smoothed it, the texture is a bit grainy but with a thin layer, it works wonders!

This is definitely grainy, and hard to use with other products. Quite tingly on application. It pills easily - this is reduced by mixing with another product in your hands before applying - or using with fewer other items. Still, seems to work well, i feel like it brightens my complexion.

    95. Try a different Vit C

This product does function, but I believe that there are more cosmetically-elegant vit c products, even from the ordinary. If you're not bothered by a gritty texture or pilling then its fine, but I don't believe it's worth it just for the high percentage of vit c given science has shown not much additional benefit comes from such a high amount compared to e.g. 10%.
