DescriptionAprehend is a novel biopesticide that uses Beauveria bassiana, a naturally occurring fungal spore, in an oil-based formulation to be sprayed as barriers in areas where bed bugs walk. When bed bugs cross the barrier, the spores stick to the legs and body of the bug and are taken back to the harborage (cracks and crevices where bed bugs hide) where they are spread among the bed bug population by direct transfer. Bed bugs that come into contact with the spores will become infected and die within 4-10 days.) In this way, Aprehend® targets bed bugs both in and outside of their harborages in a single application. The long-lasting spray residue maintains effective control for up to 3 months and can be used to prevent the establishment of bed bug populations in homes, hotels and public spaces as well as for the elimination of existing infestations. What is the best thing on the market to get rid of bed bugs?Use an insecticide
Pyrethrins and pyrethroids are two common insecticides used to kill bed bugs. As far as pesticides go, these have a relatively low toxicity to pets and people, and are fast-acting.
How quickly does Aprehend work? This disease infects the insects quickly and takes over their body, killing them within 3-5 days. After the insect dies, the fungus takes over their carcass and releases more beauveria bassiana spores into the air, meaning that it can infect more nearby bugs.
