Players were outraged back in August 2021 when the Ultra Unlock event skipped the Sun & Moon era and added the Gen 8 Pokedex into Pokemon Go. The time for Gen 7 to shine is finally here, though, as Pokemon Go is debuting some new ‘mon in the Season of Alola. Here’s everything you need to know. Pokemon Go Season of Alola start & end dateThe Season of Alola starts on March 1, 2022, following the end of the Season of Heritage event. It runs for three months, coming to a close on June 1, 2022. Island Special ResearchTrainers can complete four different Special Research lines that give insight into the different islands in the Alola region. The first one, Melemele Island, runs from March 1, 2022, to June 1, 2022. No details have been provided yet for the other three, but the end-of-season Special Research will require a $4.99 ticket if you want to participate in it without having completed the other lines.
