Hey everyone I’m looking to buy Minecraft for my pc but first want to know if you can download the game on 2 computers with 1 code.

yes you can download minecraft on any computer without a limit. When you buy the game your account will be activated and every time you log on to minecraft with your account you can play it.

The downloading and installing part can be done just with the one account, this is intended so that if somebody had multiple computers they wanted to play Minecraft from (ie, while at work, on the go on their laptop, at your girlfriend/boyfriend's [parents'] house, etc) they could do so.
However, each account can only be playing from one location at a time so you would need to buy a second account in order to play with 1 other person.

Thank you for your help, but one last question. I have 2 Microsoft accounts linked to my different computers. Will I be able to use the code twice or do I have to buy a separate card for the 2 accounts?

You only use the code once, to flag your Minecraft/Mojang account as owning the game.
Then you can play it on any computer, you log in to your Minecraft/Mojang account in the Minecraft launcher, it doesn't care what Microsoft account you have logged on to on the computer.

You don't even need a Microsoft account, you can play in Linux or on a Mac.

Don't buy the Windows-10 edition by accident.
The Win-10 edition isn't the PC version it's the phone/tablet/console version for Windows 10 computers.
Mojang don't make that very clear.

Ok this is a bit more complex.
First off, this is *JAVA* MC forum. This version, which you buy from www.minecraft.net, has no relation to MS account.
You create a Mojang account on the website, buy your MC from that account. Now you can download and install MC on as many PCs as you want by going to MC website and logging in.
When you launch MC, you will need to login in the launcher before you can play.
If you are talking about Windows 10 (Bedrock) version, that is the one you buy via MS store, and it ties to your MS account. You will only be able to access it on PCs tied to same MS account.

Unfortunately, this is not possible. This is because Minecraft is sold and licensed separately on each platform, and transferring licenses is not possible as each platform has their own marketplace.
