Came across this promotion over the weekend. We have to be honest, we know nothing about Red Roof Inn's rewards program "RediPoints" and this program rarely get mentioned in the miles & points community. It looks like they have a similar rewards program structure like Wyndham does. A FREE night requires only 7,000 points at every Red Roof location.

Our 2 Cents

For what is worth, Red Roof Inn is tailored towards budget travelers and thus their room rates are pretty inexpensive. So if you are going to do a road trip this summer or have upcoming stays with Red Roof Inn, make sure to take advantage of this summer promotion to earn enough 7,000 points for a free night stay to be used at better or more expensive Red Roof Inn properties worldwide. Currently, Red Roof Inn only have properties in Japan and Brazil outside of the United States. 

Here are our thoughts on good use of the Red Roof Inn's FREE night:

• Chicago, USA: The St. Clair Hotel - Located in the heart of Chicago city. Room rate can be above $250 per night before taxes in the summer. Accepting reservations for stays as early as October. 
• This hotel is the first hotel to be part of the Red Roof Inn's Red Collection. The way we see it, they will be adding more hotels in The Red Collection that focuses on centrally located hotels in the hearts of the cities, modern, accessible and affordable accommodations. Read here for more information. 
• Osaka, Japan: There are two Red Roof Inn properties in Osaka: Red Roof PLUS+ Osaka - Namba and Red Roof Inn & Suites Osaka – Namba/Nippombashi. Both are well located in the lively district of Namba and receive very good reviews on TripAdvisor. 
• Up until this point, Choice Privileges Rewards Points remain one of the best uses to redeem a free night stay in Osaka, Japan for only 8,000 Choice points. It's nice to see that Red Roof Inn is another good location option and requires only 7,000 RediPoints.  
• Tokyo, Japan: Red Roof Inn Kamata - This property is located little bit away from the central Tokyo, but public transportation in Tokyo is amazing to get around. 
• We still think that Choice Privileges Rewards Points remain one of the best uses to redeem a free night stay in Tokyo, Japan for only 8,000 Choice points and those Choice properties have better location. But still, it's nice to know there's another option to use points for a free night stay in Tokyo. 
• Brazil: 4 properties in Brazil:
• Red Roof Inn Natal
• Red Roof Inn Jundiai
• Red Roof Inn Vitoria
• Red Roof Inn Dutra Aeroporto
• There are a tons of Red Roof Inn properties in the United States, but most of them are pretty basic. So be sure to check the hotel's condition and room rate prior to using points.
